How Cerato can help us with insecurity when we feel disconnected
I have seen it written by a physician whose written views l deeply respect, that Cerato is a flower remedy for insecure people, who constantly seek the counsel of others. Indeed this would be absolutely correct.

However, I would like in my own observations of using Cerato as a “go-to” remedy for over 30 years to add, that insecurity is not 'what we are' but 'how we have become' because of all the vicissitudes of circumstance that we have experienced.
It is a state of “becoming”, and not one that we were born with.
It is about self-confidence and how through circumstances it became underdeveloped. About dependence and the lack of instinct this creates as a by-product of the limitations we are encouraged to believe in at a very early age in life. In our early beginnings, where our caretakers' views were those that ran the “show” whilst we fit in with their ways and beliefs.
To me, Cerato is about restoring and reminding us of our own authenticity. It is the voice inside our own soul that discerns for us through and alongside who we really are. The awakening of a soul state, and about what feels entirely true for us.
When we are in a positive Cerato state, we are well thought through, very much in touch with, and accepting of our own internal emotions and their territory, and we have no fear or preoccupation for upsetting other’s status quo. We are personally at ease and comfortable with our evaluations.
However, when we are in the negative aspect and need the realignment of Cerato, we go elsewhere and outside of ourselves for reassurance, and doubts and insecurities are the overriding emotional status. The inner voice is silenced by external provocation because we have forgotten to trust our own opinions and choices. It is a loss of self. This happens for many reasons.
What taking Cerato gives us
It allows us to listen internally and come forth with a worthy and mature opinion. It promotes maturity and allows us to see and feel the difference between right and wrong and especially right and wrong for us.
I think the driving force behind the need for this flower is a fundamental desire to not only do right but to be altruistic.
We cannot hope to either learn or acquire what is “our truth”. This is something that if allowed is profoundly felt.
The Cerato experience is visceral, not intellectual.
Here our individual nature can breathe once more, and we can also celebrate our unique spirit and individuality.
It is through our own mistakes that we may gather learning and valuable knowledge both of self and also where we belong and who we belong with.
Helpful combinations with other flower remedies
- Larch - insecurity because of inferiority and lack of confidence.
- Pine - insecurity that comes from guilt and low self-esteem.
- Mimulus - insecurity that comes from known fear.
Cerato always in a way gives us back to ourselves, when we have forgotten who we are and brings with it a rather lovely feeling of being anchored and home once more. It is a marvelous flower remedy for reconnecting with our own soul.
