About me
I'm a registered sports and holistic massage therapist in Bristol. I believe massage can be incredibly beneficial in the case of muscle injuries, physical healing and mental health.
Through my sports massage I aim to address my client's muscle injuries or imbalances with the use of various soft tissue techniques based on the assessment I carry out at the start of the session. By using sports massage I believe I can assist with muscle healing, pain reduction and ease of movement in the long term. For more information about sports massage please visit https://www.bristol-chiropractic.co.uk/sports-massage.
With holistic massage I aim to provide my clients with a space for them to properly relax and let go of any stress, while I carry out a tranquil massage routine that I have developed over my career as a holistic therapist. With holistic massage I can help ease my clients stress and provide them with a place to properly unwind, which I believe will benefit their mental health from day-to-day. Training, qualifications & experience
Education
Sports Massage level 4 ITEC
I have undertaken further education for sports massage. After seeing more clients for sports massage I have come to understand how effective it is in aiding the bodies natural healing process. Our bodies are subject to wear and tear on a daily basis and muscle injury and imbalances are very common. This course has taught me vital skills that I believe allow me to help provide my clients with prolonged ease of movement and improved posture that will make a huge difference in their day to day life.
Pregnancy Massage:
I recently gained my certificate in Pregnancy Massage with The Cotswold Academy. On this training course I learned the following:
- Benefits of pregnancy massage
- Positioning of client
- Adaptation of existing massage routine
- Round ligament pain in pregnancy
- Client care
Complementary Healthcare FdSc (Level 5):
- Swedish full-body (holistic) massage
- Advanced therapeutic (sports) massage
- Clinical Reflexology
- Clinical Aromatherapy
- Applied Clinical Nutrition
- Philosophies of Oriental medicine
I graduated from Brighton University in 2015 where I studied Complementary Healthcare FdSc. This course included Swedish full-body (holistic) massage and advanced therapeutic (sports) massage. Other therapies I learned during this course included reflexology, aromatherapy and nutritional therapy as well as modules on human anatomy and physiology and the processes of illness, injury and disease.
Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy diploma
While I continued to practice massage I decided I wanted to continue my education so I began a diploma in Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy at CNM (College of Naturopathic Medicine). This course provided me with vast knowledge of the human body and its biological function and the process of illness and disease. Included in this diploma was a year of biomedical training, followed by 2 years of nutritional therapy training, which showed me how changes to diet and lifestyle can support the proper function of the human body and help correct various imbalances and illnesses.
Work Experience
Bristol Chiropractic Sports and Family Clinic
I currently carry out all my massage work in this clinic located in Westbury Park. My clients include referrals from the other professionals working here as well as walk in clients. At this clinic we believe in a client centred approach and our aim is to help clients get active and stay active as well as providing care and support to aid recovery from injury (this may be from sports, work-related or as a result of ongoing tension). We know how important it is to see the body as a whole and treat the muscular and skeletal systems together. This is why massage and chiropractic care complement each other so well.
Haus of Hair
Practicing as a self-employed massage therapist, reflexologist and nutritional therapist in the treatment rooms of a hair salon in Westbury Park. I saw my own clients as well as clients of the hair salon.
The Pig near Bath
When I completed my work in the graduate massage clinic I started work in the treatment rooms of The Pig Hotel outside Bath. Here I practiced holistic massage, pregnancy massage, aromatherapy massage, reflexology and facials. My time at the hotel enabled me to build on my holistic massage routine and learn how to provide more in-depth relaxation for my clients.
Neal's Yard Remedies
During my university degree I realised how much I enjoyed providing care for people so when I moved back to Bristol I began my career in massage starting in a graduate clinic in Neal's Yard Remedies treatment room. Here I saw regular clients of the treatment rooms and many walk-in clients as well. This clinic allowed me to really hone my skills in massage (holistic and sports) and build a foundation for my massage work that I still use and develop today.
Hamilton House
Alongside my work in Neal's Yard, I worked as a self-employed massage therapist in the wellbeing sector of the Coexist community centre near the town centre of Bristol, offering the same treatments and treating my regular clients and walk-in clients at the.

Testimonials
"I went to see Maddie for a massage to help with tightness in my shoulders. During our session I felt she really listened to me and treated the areas of tension I was feeling, as well as finding other tense spots that I wasn't even aware I had. Afterwards I felt relaxed and I felt I could move much better than before. Overall an excellent massage and I'll definitely be recommending her!" - Sam
"Great therapist! Will undoubtedly be returning for another massage. Thanks Maddie" - Alma
"Great experience with Maddie. I went in with a stiff and sore neck, which she sorted out for me with a great massage and then followed up with some stretches that really helped!" - David
