How to raise your vibration
We are all made of energy. But, not only are we all made of energy, we are all vibrating at a frequency.
Some people have high energy and, therefore, a high frequency. They are the people who walk into a room and light up the room, people who have lots of energy and feel positive, people you generally feel drawn to. The people who love life.
Life is driven by the energy of love. The reason we all seek love is that it is our inbuilt mechanism to living a full life in the world. And by love, this could mean being in love with a person, a project, your life. Love brings in joy, it allows us to be in the present moment and create the life we would like to live.
However, fear suppresses energy and has been scientifically proven to suppress the immune system. This is why it’s key to keep your energy vibration high.
What is your 'vibration'?
When someone talks about their vibration, they are talking about their state of being or their energetic quality. Places, thoughts, and things can also have vibrations.
Why is it important to raise your vibration?
Stress, anger, depression, anxiety and fear vibrate at a lower frequency and will change our state into a lower frequency. This means we are more likely to get ill. One minute of anger weakens the immune system for four to five hours. In contrast, one minute of laughter boosts the immune system for up to 24 hours.
Fear and stress are scientifically proven to reduce the immune system and the immune system is our internal processor for fighting illness within the body.
On an energetic level, fear and anger also block the heart chakra, disconnecting us from ourselves. 95% of our day is driven by our subconscious mind and our built-in behaviour/thought patterns and, when we are in a lower vibrational state of fear, stress, anxiety, our conscious mind goes back into thinking mode and our old patterns.
This means your life isn’t being driven by love and your desires and things you want to create but by outdated old thinking patterns. Think about your body and how closed off it goes in fear. Most likely you will have your arms crossed, as the whole body goes into protection ‘fear mode’ and you wall yourself off from the world around you.
This is the main reason why we need to increase our vibration and become aware of our thoughts. Epigenetic science now shows that up to 90% of illness can be created from the mind.
The mind is the primary cause of illness today. Perception can change everything – you and how you see the world is what controls your biology, energy levels and your vibration.
To add to this, it has also been scientifically proven that the earth vibrates at a particular frequency called the Schuman frequency. This is the frequency of the Earth’s atmosphere between the surface of the Earth and the ionosphere; it is calculated at 7.87hz.
In our brain, we have five main brainwaves. The alpha brainwave is our creative, calm brainwave, when we are relaxed and not thinking about too much. The alpha brainwave is connected to our creativity, feelings of calm and being in this state is shown to reduce stress, anxiety and depression. This is also the natural frequency of the Earth. This is how connected we all are and when we are not in the natural relaxed ‘alpha’ state we can actually make ourselves ill.
How to raise your vibration
Energy healing can help as it directly gives your body extra energy and reserves so your cup ‘fills up’. Examples of energy healing therapies include acupressure, acupuncture, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and Reiki.
Bringing in some joy to your life, such as laughter, connecting with people or talking to a friend can help. You can also limit time on electronic devices as Wi-Fi interferes with our electromagnetic frequency and can reduce our vibration.
9 ways to increase your energy
1. Meditation
Even if you only have time to take two minutes, a full breath cycle is a form of meditation. Sit with your feet touching the ground beneath you, place your hand on your belly and take in a big deep breath through your nose. Feel the breath travel down to your belly and your belly rise with the inhalation, and go down with the exhalation.
Energise your entire body, as it fills up with oxygenated breath. As you breathe in, focus on breathing in relaxation and calm and simply let go of what no longer serves you, until you feel relaxed and still.
2. Movement
Exercise is an obvious one but, as you know, it works. It releases endorphins, gets the blood pumping and your body working. Exercise also gets you out of your head and into your body. Exercise is a great release, particularly if you’ve been stressed, as your body interprets stress as running from a sabre tooth tiger – life or death, fight or flight.
3. Dance
You can get the family involved, put on some fun music, open your windows and dance like you don’t care, have a giggle, and have fun.
Energy needs to go somewhere so releasing it via movement is a great way to change your mood, have a shake and feel good.
4. Get out in nature
Go for a walk and, to take this a step further, use nature to energise you. Nature is alive, it’s vibrant, beautiful and full of energy. So smile, observe everything get the kids involved. Look around you at every colour, really be present in the moment and find five things you love on your walk.
Walking reduces stress, gets you out of your head and back into your body, and nature raises your vibration and helps to reset your auric field.
5. Food
We are what we eat and eating highly processed, chemical foods will bring your vibration down. Anything natural, colourful and from the earth will help to raise your vibration and make your body work optimally.
6. Crystals
Crystals all vibrate at different frequencies and when they are programmed to work with our body, they help our body lift to match that of the crystal and raise our vibration.
7. Baths
Epsom sea salts and magnesium flakes are great to have in the bath. Epsom bath salts help to break down the lactic acid in your muscles, which is great if you are under stress. It can help the body relax as your body is mostly made of water and clears your aura/energy field. Magnesium is another mineral that helps with stress and anxiety by improving brain functions.
8. Gratitude
Being in a state of gratitude and feeling blessed is a great way to shift your energy. When you are being thankful for all you have and truly showing appreciation, you enter a state of love and shift negative emotions.
Even if I’m having a bad day I will ask myself "What could I be happy about? What could make me feel happy?" This helps to shift your thoughts from the negative to the positive and raises your vibration.
9. Music
Listening to your favourite music or uplifting spiritual music helps your spirit. Solfeggio or binaural beats are also great to listen to, as they are at certain frequencies connected to your brain waves. This can help to raise your energy and lift you into a positive state. They are gentle and relaxing and great for helping to calm the emotions.
How to clear energy in your home
Your home is an extension of yourself. It’s your living space and it’s important you keep the energy clear too. When we shout or argue, the energy can get ‘stuck’ in the air and create an atmosphere. It can also get stagnant in closed cupboards, so clearing the energy helps and there are lots of ways to do this.
- Open your windows and get the air circulating in your home.
- Fresh flowers and candles help to raise the vibration as do diffusers and you can get lots of lovely essential oils. Diffusers also open up your airwaves.
- Fresh plants help as they can bring more oxygen into your home and this is important with all of the technology we now have in our homes.
- We can use Sage and Palo Santo to clear stagnant energy in our homes. To use them, you simply light them and walk from room to room (including in cupboards), to clear any stagnant energy and set the intention to ask for the room to be clear.
