How to meditate anywhere
These days, making sure you schedule a few minutes of daily meditation is “the new black”. There's no need to be intimidated by the idea though, you can fit some “me time” in your daily routine, no need for the yoga pants or an empty house.
On your commute
If you are one for public transport, or even stuck in rush hour traffic, you are in one of the best places to take a moment to stop and clear your head.
Pop in your headphones and some peaceful music and focus on the world around you, find a sense of stillness in the morning rush.
At the market
This is a super quick one. If you are standing in a queue at the supermarket or taking a break among the crowded streets, make the most of an opportunity. Take some deep breaths, soften your gaze and relax your shoulders. Try not to focus on one thing in particular and you’ll be out of the crowds in no time.
In the air
What better place to take some time to look out the window? Normally, you may be irritated by the constant humming of the plane engine for hours on end, but it is the perfect type of “white noise” you need to get into the zone.
At a party
On a special occasion, it can sometimes feel overwhelming being surrounded by so many people with so many heightened emotions. Taking a couple of minutes out to focus can actually make the party more fulfilling. You can either take a step to the side to “people watch”, focus on your breathing and everything that is going on in the room, or you can quickly nip to the restroom for a few moments.
Trust us, taking some time to yourself in the middle of a big shindig can help you relax and open your mind to new opportunities.
