Laura Jane Soft Tissue Therapy - Laura Dalby
I have a BSc in Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation with an additional level 5 diploma in sports massage which along with my 10+ years experience in the field helps me to achieve success with clients. My aim is to assist them in moving better to perform better be at in sports, at home or at work.
I will come to you equipped with a treatment couch to assess and treat your injuries / tension, in the comfort of your own home.
Treatments offered are detailed below and can vary in time. Due to current guidelines and covid 19 all manual therapies restricted to 30 mins with 30 minutes pre phone consultation.
Sports and Deep Tissue massage therapy - this is suitable for those who are experiencing tension or pain due to stiff muscles. This can be caused by prolonged posture, like sitting at work, lots of manual work or increased recent activity. It is important to ease this tension, most effectively through appropriate massage therapy techniques, to restore the function and movement back into the muscle tissue preventing injury and freeing your movement.
It is best to PREVENT injuries by ensuring you understand your body and look after it. Full body massage will help you and the therapist understand potential risk factors for injury thereby preventing pain and injury from every day stresses and sports.
Stretch therapy - we all know stretching is good for us but how do we do it? When do we do it? And ultimately DO you do it? Assisted stretching helps you to achieve a deep stretch of multiple muscle fibres. Leave the hard work to me and allow me to improve your mobility, flexibility and prevent and treat injuries. Restore natural function and improve your yoga, or general stretch ability.
Injury Rehabilitation / Sports Therapy - is vital after even the smallest of injuries as the body holds on to scars and repairing cells therefore affecting the way your body may move and reducing the strength in the injured area. Performing just one or two key exercises will restore this and help reduce further incidence of injury and help you regain the strength, power and movement you had before.Do not think you have to put up with those niggles, feel yourself again.
Running analysis and biomechanics training - we can all run right? Well to a degree but due to our bodies restrictions, previous injuries and tight spots our running technique can suffer. It is a high load exercise and any imbalances will be cruelly shown and cause potential harm.
I can video your running and analyse the faults and create a programme to help retrain good technique and strength according to your individual requirements.
Specialist in running injuries, running biomechanics, marathon programming and preparation.
