Reiki For Stress
Stress appears to be more prevalent in our modern day lives. Emotional or mental pressure created from our work, relationships and money worries can make us feel overwhelmed and unable to cope. Our body has its own mechanism of defending itself against a perceived threat through a surge of hormones in the “fight or flight response”. Once the pressure has passed then these hormones usually quickly return to normal.
However, if you are constantly under stress then these hormones stay in your body, leading to a variety of symptoms such as: difficulties in sleeping, sweating, headaches, muscle tension, anxiety, a more negative thought pattern, a feeling of being disconnected or even the start of other physical illnesses.
Stress can affect your aura, the energy field around the body. For example, if you are sad or angry your aura will contract. Stress can also affect our chakras which connect to and govern our endocrine system. The body, through its pain signal, will often make you aware that it needs assistance.
Reiki is a traditional Japanese form of healing which assists the body’s natural healing ability. Reiki is a safe and very popular therapy for stress, as it compliments any prescribed medication you may be taking. A Reiki treatment will typically last for around an hour and will involve the fully trained Reiki therapist placing their hands on or just above the areas of your body in need of healing, sending the restorative energy needed. Many people find a Reiki treatment deeply relaxing and soothing, making it an ideal choice of therapy to experience during or after a stressful period or life event.
