Reiki and Western medicine
Reiki is increasingly being accepted alongside conventional medical care, however many doctors resist complementary therapy as they assume patients will not see them and thus may become worse.
Many of us now understand that Doctors are not 'God' and we are responsible for our bodies and health. We all realise, I think, that we know our bodies and what our body and mind needs. Of course we must consult a Doctor if the medical problem is one that can't be dealt with by complementary therapy. As Reiki is all about us and our true nature, the benefits of relaxation are second to none.
For Reiki to have survived since time began, shows us that it works on the physical and mental level, sometimes all that is needed is to 'let go' and become who we really are. Deep breathing is essential, as the way we breathe becomes our survival. Of course we need to breathe or we wouldn't survive, but it's the way we breathe that is so important. In any given situation , whether it's fear or being anxious and stressed, concentrating on our breath will relieve that moment. Pain can also benefit from deep breathing, labour pains being one of them, we can alleviate so much by this method.
Reiki teaches us that letting go of anger and worry, being true to ourselves, showing compassion to ourselves and others is how we need to live, and many of the symptoms we have can be dealt with by simply deep breathing and recognising that anger and worry don't solve anything.
When we visit a Doctor, our blood pressure seems to go up without any pressure! The white coat syndrome takes over, even though they don't seem to wear white coats anymore! Deep breathing will bring it down very often, and relax us, sometimes that's all that is needed.
So often the medical profession relies on pharmaceuticals for the answer to many medical problems, I suppose the NHS is paid by them so they will of course rely on the prescription. But is this the right way to diagnose a medical problem? Each prescription has side effects so more is given and so on. I'm not saying we shouldn't take tablets, I am saying there can be alternatives, by taking responsibility for ourselves. We can't always do that, but we can use complementary therapy to walk with western medicine, which would then create a balance.
When we say Reiki is spiritual, the glazed eyes speak for themselves! Spirituality isn't woo woo; the subconscious mind is essential to 'let go' and when we 'let go', we see our lives and the planet in a different dimension, one of clarity, and our essence becomes the true inner light. This of course takes us to enlightenment and purity. It takes no time at all to be in that moment. We seem to think it's a mammoth task, it isn't of course, it is very simple and healing.
If we concentrate on this, it will become our daily life, like getting up in the morning and having a cup of tea or coffee, it will become our routine. Our life will become much clearer, and much healthier, we are taking responsibility and maybe, just maybe we won't need as much help from the medical profession.
