Colour therapy and my journey back to self-worth

Are you fed up with being single? Questioning whether you should go on a dating app? Spending most of your time wallowing in wondering where your new partner is or when it will happen? Are you ready to deepen your existing relationship? Are you searching for “the one?” If so, you’re not alone.

Feeling stuck in the search for love

I spent a lot of my years as a single woman. Now in a very stable, harmonious, peaceful and caring relationship, I can reflect back and truly see where I was ‘going wrong’. I was searching, yearning, wallowing. In a dark cloud of depression and desperation, I would spend so much of my time thinking, "Where is he?" "Why me?" and "Why is everyone else in a relationship and not me?" I was running the “It's not fair” programme.

I spent a lot of my time dreaming about what it would actually be like to be in a relationship, but I would judge myself when it didn’t come to fruition. I’d be shrouded in self-pity and beat myself up for constantly being rejected, betrayed or abandoned. I didn't know I was doing this to myself, but I now know the judgment was keeping the pattern stuck. All the while, I was actually missing out on living my life.

So what changed for me?

I stopped searching for someone else outside of me to make me feel complete, make me feel whole, for someone who might love me. I made a decision to shift the focus.

I turned the search inward. I stopped all dating apps, and I stopped the nights out. I stopped energetically chasing potential men in my life that I fancied. I stopped questioning when it would happen, I just stopped looking, and instead, I turned the focus to me. I decided to put myself first.

During that time, I was also guided on a journey of self-discovery and within that search, a colour therapy system called Colour Mirrors discovered me.

What is colour therapy?

Colour is a holistic therapy that can be used to explore patterns, beliefs, and emotional experiences, including aspects linked to the inner child.

We can use colour as a tool to analyse where we may feel stuck in our present lives, helping us to become more aware of our emotions and responses. For some, this can support a process of letting go of what no longer feels helpful. Colour offers us the opportunity to release the negative but also to embrace the positive aspects of ourselves and integrate those into our beings.

Whilst it may not be widely known at present, colour is considered by some to be an ancient healing modality.

My experience with colour therapy

The Colour Mirrors system is a beautiful modality made up of over 100 colour bottles, and you can work in very dynamic ways with it to help shift energetics, existing and potential relationship dynamics, and also to see what is your positive potential through the mirror of colour.

Through working with the vibration of colour as a reflection tool, I was able to release repeating emotions relating to how I felt about being single. I felt able to clear the energetic ties connected to feeling rejected, abandoned or betrayed. The colour was also showing me how much fear I was holding in my body about being in a potential relationship, because I could feel the sensation in my body when I worked with the Colour Mirrors bottles.

What I learned about love and self-worth

From working with colour, I started to realise that no one can complete me. I could recognise that I am already whole from and within myself. And it was from doing the inner work that I could release all the emotional baggage I had around being able to receive a man in my life. I covered a lot of ground, a lot of grief came to the surface, and I cleared a lot of “father wounds”. I began to shift some of the ways I had been feeling separate in life, as well as beliefs linked to rejection, abandonment, and betrayal. I cleared the subconscious patterning that was creating the same repeating events in my reality.

Because colour is often described as a vibration, and emotions or stuck feelings in the body can be experienced in a similar way, I found that colour offered a way to explore patterns that had been keeping me stuck or repeating in my life. Colour can feel like magic, and it can be difficult to fully put the experience into words. For me, it brought moments of reflection and a sense of connection, particularly with the Colour Mirrors system.

It was from this experience that my life started to change. I was no longer grieving, and I could feel a strong, energetic presence coming into my life. In truth, it took a year for the energy I could feel to present itself in the physical form as a beautiful, wise man.

Now I see, I wasn't going wrong at all. Colour was also able to offer me spiritual principles that link to fundamental life lessons, and through my own life experience, now embodied as wisdom and from interacting and playing so much with colour, it became clearer and clearer that my past was all just an experience for me to be able to learn and grow.

The lovely thing about doing this level of work, especially with the vibration of colour as a modality, is that perhaps you start to realise you are “the one". You are the one you have been searching for all along. And from that place, your self-love and your overflowing cup of love can be shared with others, and a harmonious match may just come along with ease, magic and grace.

Colour is often thought of as light and vibration, and some people experience it as a way of reflecting on what may be happening internally. It can be a tool for self-empowerment and to make wonderful changes in all aspects of your life, as well as your romance and relationship potential.

Are you interested in stopping your search and instead journeying deep within? How would your world be, or how would your love life be if you brought more colour into it?
