About us

At the Midlands Shockwave and Physiotherapy Clinic in Sutton Coldfield, we are dedicated to offering a quality and timely service to adults and children in need of help for their injuries, operations or conditions.

Our current clinic base is at the fabulous Sutton Medical Consulting Centre within Ashfurlong Medical Centre. We are looking to expand into other areas nearby due to the popularity of the clinic and growing number of excellent physiotherapists joining the team.

The location of our clinic has enabled patients from Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham and Staffordshire to access a physiotherapist for treatment and thus receive the quality of care that they require in a timely fashion.

Steve has been a chartered physiotherapist since 2004.

His speciality is the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions with a special interest in Shockwave Therapy. He has been using this particular treatment method with any of his patients that he feel would benefit and has been very pleased with the results.

Steve has extensive experience, including working at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital for many years, managing and rehabilitating complex spinal, upper and lower limb MSK problems, as well as working in several MSK settings.

As well as Shockwave Therapy, Steve uses a variety of treatment techniques, including manual therapy, acupuncture and exercise-based therapy. Whether the problem is acute, a longstanding issue or post-operative, he will ensure the best approach is taken, so maximum recovery is achieved.

At Midlands Shockwave & Physiotherapy Clinic our specialist physiotherapists follow the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidelines for using shockwave therapy to treat persistent conditions. Examples of these conditions are:

  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Achilles tendinopathy
  • Tennis/Golfers elbow
  • Patellar tendonitis
  • Trochanteric bursitis
  • Calcific tendonitis of the shoulder
  • Shin splints
  • It can also be used to treat acupuncture points and trigger points.

So, if you have a persistent condition then speak with us as it may be that shockwave therapy can help to boost the healing process and offer the solution to your pain.

If you have been diagnosed with or suspect you may have a pre-existing medical condition, please consult your GP for advice before starting any new therapies.
