About us

I am the Lead Physiotherapist at Midlands Shockwave & Physiotherapy Clinic and have been a Chartered Physiotherapist since 2004, giving me over 20 years of clinical experience. My career has included working at Ipswich Town Football Club, in a variety of musculoskeletal settings, and at the internationally renowned Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham.

I have. a specialist interest in Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT), particularly for the treatment of heel pain caused by plantar fasciitis. Shockwave therapy is also highly effective for a range of stubborn tendon and soft tissue conditions, including Achilles tendinopathy, patellar tendinopathy (jumper's knee), tennis and golfer's elbow, calcific tendonitis of the shoulder, greaater trochanteric pain syndrome (hip) and shin splints.

At Midlands Shockwave & Physiotherapy Clinic, we provide high-quality physiotherapy and shockwave therapy for patients across Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham and Staffordshire. Our focus is on helping patients overcome pain, restore movement, and return to the activities they enjoy.

Training, qualifications & experience

Steve has been a Chartered Physiotherapist since 2004, specialising in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions. He has a particular interest in shockwave therapy, which he has successfully used with many patients for conditions such as heel pain and tendon injuries.

He has extensive experience, including many years at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham, where he managed and rehabilitated complex spinal, upper limb and lower limb MSK problems. He has also worked in a variety of other MSK settings, developing a broad and adaptable approach to patient care.

Alongside shockwave therapy, Steve uses a combination of manual therapy and exercise-based rehabilitation. Whether the problem is acute, long-standing , or post-operative, his aim is always to provide the most effective treatment plan to support a full and lasting recovery.
