Learn the language of the body

What if the body could tell you exactly where it needed support?

Kinesiology is far more than learning muscles. It's about learning the remarkable language of the body and discovering how structure, nutrition, emotions and energy are all interconnected. Once you begin to understand that language, you'll never look at health in quite the same way again.

Whether you dream of becoming a professional Kinesiologist, want to add powerful new skills to your existing therapy practice, or simply have a passion for understanding how the body works, this foundation course offers a practical, inspiring introduction to professional kinesiology. You do not need a qualification in another modality to do this course.

Across six Kinesiology Association Approved and CNHC Accredited modules, you'll learn over 40 muscles and discover that each one is linked to a Chinese Meridian, an organ system, an element and emotional qualities.

With plenty of hands-on practical work, you'll build confidence module by module. By the end of your first weekend, you'll already be carrying out kinesiology balances using muscles linked to the digestive system.

Autumn 2026 dates

  • Module 1: 8–9 August
  • Module 2: 12–13 September
  • Module 3: 10–11 October
  • Module 4: 24–25 October
  • Module 5: 20–22 November
  • Assessment and achievement day: 12 December

Please note this will be the final foundation course until 2028, as I will be teaching the professional diploma throughout 2027.

Module one – discovering the language of the body

What if your muscles could tell you where the body needed help?

You'll learn accurate muscle monitoring using the Strong Indicator Muscle (SIM) while discovering the fascinating relationship between muscles, meridians, organs and emotions.

For example, the Pectoralis Major Clavicular muscle is linked to the Stomach Meridian, the digestive system and the Earth Element, reflecting qualities of support, nurturing and empathy. It's just one example of how muscles reveal much more than strength or movement.

You'll also learn:

  • neuro lymphatic and neuro vascular reflexes
  • emotional stress release (ESR)
  • cross crawl
  • visual inhibition
  • dehydration testing

Even mild dehydration can affect how efficiently the body functions, making this simple test invaluable at the start of every balance.

By the end of your first weekend you'll already be confidently carrying out your own kinesiology balances on the muscles related to the digestive system.

Module two – understanding stress and energy

Have you ever wondered why stress seems to affect every system in the body?

You'll discover how muscles, meridians and emotions work together, including the Sartorius, linked to the Triple Warmer Meridian, the body's stress response and the Fire Element. You'll explore the three levels of stress and practical ways to restore balance.

Other techniques include Pulse Synchronisation, Energetic Switching, MEI and Tonification Points, Gaits, Figure Eight Energies and balancing fears and phobias.

One technique students particularly love is Diaphragm Breathing.

Imagine helping someone breathe more freely within minutes.

In practice

One of my former students, a Sports Massage Therapist, used this technique with one of his case studies, a cyclist increasing his breathing capacity by anincredible 23 seconds. He was astonished by the result.

You'll also explore Positive Self Talk and Balanced Affirmations. Combined with Emotional Stress Release, meridian balancing and, where appropriate, Bach Flower Remedies, these techniques can help replace negative thought patterns with healthier, more supportive ones.

Stress will never look quite the same again.

Module three – nutrition, emotions and the body

Could the body reveal which foods support it and which may be creating unnecessary stress?

You'll learn food intolerance testing, Protein and Mineral Testing, Emotional Tissue Memory Scanning, Pause Lock, Hypertonic Muscles, Chinese Five Element Theory and Wrist Pulses Under Energy.

Although food testing doesn't diagnose allergies, it can provide valuable clues about foods that may be contributing to imbalance and help guide healthier nutritional choices.

In practice

One student used food testing with her teenage daughter, whose severe premenstrual symptoms had become life-changing. Muscle monitoring suggested wheat may have been creating unnecessary stress. After removing wheat for eight weeks and taking the nutritional supplements that balanced well for her, she reported a dramatic improvement.

Many students describe this as the module where nutrition truly comes alive.

Module four – following the body's priorities

What if the body could tell you where to begin rather than asking you to guess?

You'll learnFinger Modes to identify whether the body's priority is Structural, Nutritional, Emotional or Energetic, together with Priority Mode, allowing the body to guide the balance.

You'll also learn Thymus Tap, Fix in Motion, Muscle Fixations, integrating the Piriformis, Psoas and Hamstrings, music for stress relief and nutritional supplement testing.

Imagine knowing whether a supplement is appropriate before someone spends money buying it.

In practice

One of my earliest clients came with neck pain, knee pain and digestive problems. We began by balancing the neck muscles, linked to the Stomach Meridian. A week later she returned delighted. Not only had her neck improved, but so had her digestion and knee pain. It was a wonderful reminder that the body works as one interconnected system.

This is where kinesiology begins to feel like detective work.

Module five – honing your skills

By now you'll be confidently combining structural, nutritional, emotional and energetic techniques into complete kinesiology balances.

You'll learn Contact Locating, Emergency Modes, Pause Lock Stacking and additional muscles supporting posture, movement and stability.

One highlight is nutritional supplement testing. Rather than buying blindly, you'll learn how kinesiology can help identify which supplements may best support an individual's needs at that particular time.

You'll find yourself trusting the body's wisdom rather than relying on guesswork.

Module six – putting it all together

The final module brings together everything you've learned throughout the foundation course.

You'll learn Surrogate Testing, allowing muscle monitoring to be carried out with babies, young children, animals and individuals who cannot be tested directly.

Through supervised practical sessions, you'll integrate all your new skills into complete kinesiology balances before your assessment and achievement day.

Everything comes together, leaving you with the confidence to perform a complete kinesiology balance.

By the end of the foundation course

You'll have the confidence to carry out a complete kinesiology balance while understanding how muscles, meridians, emotions, nutrition and energy work together to support health.

Many of my students tell me they begin looking at themselves, their families and their clients in a completely different way. Once you understand the language of the body, it's a way of thinking that stays with you for life.

I still find kinesiology as fascinating today as I did when I first discovered it over 25 years ago, and I'd love to share that passion with you.

If you have any questions, I'd be delighted to hear from you.
