About me
Maya Harish, ND MSc -
A highly experienced naturopath and herbalist (western herbal medicine) with ten years of clinical experience and thousands of patients helped.
From a heart condition to the healthiest me
Having grown up with a heart condition I was told would be part of my life forever and that I was going to need to be on antibiotics for my whole life, I spent a lot of time in doctors' offices.
I would stare at models of hearts while words were spoken above me.
Then I started to realise that the food I ate and the way I lived my life actually made a huge difference to how I felt.
I started connecting the dots, and found naturopathy. I was able to get myself to run 10km without requiring any regular medication. I am healthier now in my mid-30s than I was at 18.
How to make a healthy lifestyle fit you!
I have a great passion to show other people the difference naturopathy can make in their lives too!
I help people who struggle with balancing a healthy lifestyle, and who don't want to live a life of restrictions.
I love helping you figure out how to make a healthy lifestyle fit you - not the other way around.
I believe in long-term sustainable plans, and that you don't have to avoid huge groups of food to reach your goals. You will learn how to improve your nutrition, why and how to make better dietary choices, what supplements or herbal medicines are required and for how long, and how to make your lifestyle healthier and supportive of your goals, one step at a time.
I mostly work with people who have complex conditions such as:
- metabolic syndrome
- fatty liver disease (which I researched and wrote about for my MSc dissertation)
- cardiovascular disease (such as support with CHD and CAD)
- and other chronic conditions.
