About me

Bowen therapy Devon
I am an experienced and accredited practitioner of the Bowen technique. Having trained at the College of Bowen, I consult from my studio at Birchill, which lies midway between Chard and Axminster.

After qualifying as a veterinary surgeon in 1979 I was a small animal vet for 36 years having my own clinic in Edinburgh.
After retiring as a vet,  I  retrained as a Bowen therapist and I’m still constantly amazed by the positive results  Bowen  can give for numerous  medical  conditions.

I am also trained in Scarwork - this involves gentle working over and around a scar. Releasing the adhesions deep to the scar can have a profound response local and remote to the area worked on resulting in increased mobility, improved sensation and much more. I have also done specialist training in releasing scars related to breast cancer and reconstructions.

I also offer therapy for TMJ issues [the jaw joint].

Bowen can help so many problems including:

  • Asthma, hay fever and other bronchial conditions
  • Frozen shoulder, tennis elbow RSI, carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Headache and migraine [TMJ related]
  • Lower back, sacroiliac pain & Sciatica
  • Back, neck problems
  • Stress, tension and chronic fatigue
  • PMS/Menstrual problems
  • Lymphatic Drainage & Kidney problems
  • Arthritis
  • Sinus drainage
  • and so much more
