Yoga Therapist & Yoga Teacher

About me

My name is Sharòn & I am a Yoga Teacher & Yoga Therapist, based in Shenley, Hertfordshire. I have been practising yoga for almost 30 years. I discovered early on how deeply supportive & enriching yoga could be & continues to be in my everyday life.

What is Yoga Therapy & how it can help

Yoga Therapy is an ancient, complementary healing process & journey of Self-Discovery, Love & Transformation, in Mind, Body, Breath, Heart & Soul.

Yoga tools include beautiful Breathing & Meditation practices, appropriate & gentle postures, Relaxation techniques, Visualisation & Mantra/Chanting, very specific to each person, according to individual needs. Yoga Therapy can support people with health issues, who are willing to explore some of these practices to help soothe & manage their symptoms, with the added intention to strengthen Physical & Emotional/Mental capacity. A viable & effective option that may work alongside traditional/conventional medicine & treatments.

Health issues include Stress & Burnout, Anxiety, Depression, Digestive, Bone & Joint Disorders, Allergies, Breathing difficulties, Menopause, Fibromyalgia, CFS, Long Covid & other low-energy related illnesses.

What to expect/look forward to

I share an authentic, compassionate & restorative style of yoga, with many potential & collaborative benefits.

I offer a safe, calm, non-judgemental & supportive space in which to observe, explore, share & discuss thoughts & feelings, with honesty & compassion. To develop an optimistic, sensitive & intuitive attitude toward & about yourself. To encourage more clarity & confidence in relationships & communication. To gradually introduce new & effective lifestyle choices & changes, finding courage to let go of habitual patterns of behaviour & reactions that no longer serve you nor others well. To pacify, rebalance & cleanse systems on a physical, emotional, mental, energetic &/or spiritual level. To release some of the build up of trauma, resistance, stress, anxiety & tension & restore a sense of inner spaciousness, freedom & well being. To cultivate a loving connection with your heart, learning to trust strength, peace & light deep within.

The Yoga Therapy process

The Yoga Therapy process is structured with one to one consultations (frequency depending on what suits each individual best) & the introduction of a regular, personal practice which includes an appropriate combination & sequence of yoga tools. The process is gradual, subtle, experiential & intentional, no promises are made. Changes to the practice will be suggested if necessary. The practice can become a precious opportunity to pause during the day, for quiet, rest, connection & steadiness.

Suggestion to have your own yoga mat, a blanket & any props (for added comfort/padding) Option for Chair practice if lowering down onto the floor is too difficult.

Arranging a consultation

In person consultations at home or option to meet online depending on location & circumstances. I also have a yoga space locally in Shenley if you'd prefer not to meet at home.

Health Form & Disclaimer

Health Form to be completed as best you can & returned prior to first session. This is available on request. The introductory session is Health Form-based, an opportunity to connect & begin to establish support & practice going forwards.
