Judith Kilgallon - Bowen Practitioner
I made the decision to qualify in the Bowen Technique in 2012 after receiving regular Bowen sessions myself for a back problem which had occurred several years earlier. I now work at the Therapy Company's 2 clinics in St Annes and The Mill in the grounds of St Catherine's Hospice in Lostock Hall near Preston in an evening and at weekends.
The Bowen Technique is a gentle but effective hands on holistic therapy which is suitable for all ages, including babies. Bowen may help with a variety of conditions such as neck, back and other joint pain, asthma, anxiety and baby colic. Bowen an aid relaxation and promote a general sense of well-being in addition to providing pain relief.
A Bowen session typically lasts between 30 and 60 minutes during which time a series of movements are made over specific muscles, tendons and soft tissue. Breaks are taken after each set of moves where I leave the room to allow the body the time and space to respond to the moves. The moves can be made through light clothing
An initial set of 3 sessions, one week apart is recommended during which time it is recommended that other physical therapies such as physiotherapy should not be undertaken.

Testimonials from previous clients
I had Bowen for headaches and sinus pain, a stiff neck, aching shoulders and stress. The headaches had made me feel depressed and caused my energy levels to drop. I found the treatment very relaxing and I believe that the pressure applied to certain points in my body encouraged the lymph to flow and the advice on drinking water and keeping moving helped to relieve my headaches and joint pain MS - Fleetwood
I had very bad lower back pain and was unable to get out of bed, walk or bend. I had good results from the first session and it improved after each treatment. My jaw was treated which has stopped me from biting the inside of my mouth. My back has been a problem most of my life so I am very impressed with Bowen MT - St Annes
I had a prolapsed disc causing acute sciatica and this prevented me from walking, dressing and working. I have been able to resume all activities fully. I had 3 treatments and felt an improvement after the second one. My movement was less restricted and I was able to sleep through the night. The therapist was excellent, explaining the procedure and I have seen a 90% improvement in my condition SC - Bartle
i had pain in my stomach and my right leg kept giving way which stopped me from walking any long distances. I benefitted massively from Bowen. I have managed to reduce the amount of tablets I was previously taking for the pain. I can now walk long distances without my leg giving way meaning I can now do much more. I would highly recommend Bowen treatment LB - Blackpool
I had symptoms of anxiety and insomnia and some neck and back pain which were having a negative impact on my quality of life. After the treatments I felt less anxious and more positive. Thanks to Judith’s expertise, professionalism and her empathetic and caring manner, I feel less stressed and much more able to function in everyday life. I would not hesitate to recommend Judith to anyone who may be experiencing similar problems FA - Blackpool
My two and a half month old baby had bad colic and nothing was helping. Bowen came highly recommended and after one treatment his colic had gone. He was no longer screaming for hours with discomfort - we couldn’t beleive it. Bowen was so gentle and pain free, didn’t take long and made us all so happy. We recommend Bowen to anyone, the results were amazing MA - Cleveleys
I had a Bowen treatment principally due to neck pain and really bad headaches. I found it difficult to concentrate and think clearly so had stopped driving. I often had to cancel outings and social activities at short notice because of the headaches. I have been delighted with the benefits I have derived from Bowen. Not only have the headaches and neck pain disappeared, I have had boundless energy and my brain is working at the level it used to many years ago. My breathing is much improved (I have COPD) and my constipation has been resolved. I can’t recommend the treatment highly enough and I will be resuming driving again soon EP - St Annes
