About me

Are you struggling to do the things you want to do because of overwhelming anxiety? 

Do you have issues with sleep, digestion, feeling disconnected from others?

Do you crave a sense of ease and freedom but often feel like you are just getting by? 

I am an advanced EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique / tapping) Practitioner supporting clients online and from a comfortable therapy room in Upton, Chester. 

So many of us struggle with anxiety, feel stuck in a negative pattern of thought or behaviour or find it hard to move on from difficult experiences.

EFT is a tool you can use to make the real and measurable change that you need in order to live the full life that you deserve and come back to balance and ease. 

Uniquely, EFT is also a powerful self-help tool that you will learn to use outside of sessions to support yourself in everyday life. 

What can EFT help me with? 

Wherever there is a difficult experience, EFT can help.

Very often I support clients who are experiencing anxiety and who feel stuck in loops of thought and emotion that they are finding limit their everyday experiences. That might look like

- Not feeling comfortable in social situations

- Conflict with a partner or family member

- Not being able to find joy in life and feeling disconnected

- Often feeling fear, the need to hide and stay small

- Struggling to move past a loss or difficult experience and wanting to push the memory away when it arises

- Feeling that there is more out there, but it's not for us or we can't achieve it

EFT can work with the body and mind at deep levels to find the root of our emotions, always done gently and at your pace. Once we have a better understanding, our patterns can be transformed.

I have additionally used EFT to support my clients to overcome chronic stress, deep rooted fears and past traumas, find a healthy path through loss, make decisions with confidence, overcome cravings and resolve longstanding conflict. 

What is EFT?

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT or Tapping) is a very powerful therapeutic tool using gentle tapping on traditional acupressure points done by you combined with skills from talking therapies, although this is not necessary if it is something you would rather not share.

EFT can help you understand what is holding you back and give you the freedom to make the change you want to see.

During EFT we can often have deep insights and understand things more fully but it isn't our job to think or analyse our way out of the issue - a relief when we feel we've come as far as we can with talking about something. Instead we can learn to connect with ourselves using this simple but transformational technique and unlock possibilities that might not be able to see right now.

What do sessions look like?

You will find my sessions are warm, non-judgemental and always a collaboration. I came to EFT many years ago as a client and I know first hand how powerful it is and how important it is to facilitate the right session for you. 

We begin with a free consultation of up to 30 minutes, where we have an opportunity to talk through what you would like to work on and how we can apply EFT to help. This is also a chance for you to ask any questions and assess whether it feels like a good fit for us to work together. There is absolutely no obligation on this call, just a chance to find out more.

I work online and also facilitate in person sessions in Chester. 

EFT is clear and measurable and you will be able to see the progress as we move through. Throughout our sessions we will review and agree on the way forward. You will have my full guidance but the direction we take is always up to you.

I came to somatic therapy many years ago and my passion comes from the dramatic changes I was able to make to my own life. Because of my own experiences I know EFT is a powerful vehicle for overcoming challenges and living with more ease.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully accredited advanced EFT practitioner registered with the EFT and Mindfulness Centre, and a mindfulness and meditation teacher trained with Mindfulness UK. 

I hold a Psychology honours degree as well as a Masters degree and am author of a chapter in the recently published Routledge Companion to Gender, Sexuality and Culture. 

I have also recently published an article in The Green Parent which talks through the power of EFT to support parents in connecting with their children. 

I have supported clients with very different needs in 1:1 and group work in various capacities for many years and I also have the added experience of being a person who worked through my own difficulties using EFT and other somatic therapies  - my passion and belief in this technique comes from being a client as well as a practitioner.
