About me
So many of us struggle with stress and anxiety, feel stuck in a negative pattern or find it hard to move on from difficult memories. It might be that you are finding self-doubt is in the way of reaching your goals or maybe you are feeling trapped in a conflict with someone close to you. Maybe you have noticed that you feel stuck and want change but don't know yet what it looks like.
EFT can help make the real and tangible changes that you need in order to live the full life that you deserve. When external circumstances or even the patterns in our own minds seem so familiar but impossible to break out of, it is often because of strategies and beliefs we have learned about ourselves and the world. Because they are unconscious it can be difficult to make change just by thinking or talking about them and EFT is able to gently identify and work with them in a deep and lasting way.
While your sessions will offer an opportunity for bigger transformative shifts, EFT is also an amazing tool that you will learn and develop during sessions to manage stressors, anxiety and difficult emotions for yourself day to day.
As a technique EFT is simple to learn and do but immensely powerful and can provide real insights into our thoughts, emotions and behaviours that give us the freedom to make different choices.
What can EFT help me with?
Honestly, almost anything. Wherever there is an unwanted emotion EFT can help.
My training and experience has enabled me to support my clients to overcome chronic stress and anxiety, deep rooted fears and past traumas, find a healthy path through loss, make decisions with confidence, overcome cravings and resolve longstanding conflict.
It is also an excellent tool for practical and lifestyle changes such as improving sleep and being more active as it works with the body and mind to identify and work with the root cause of any barriers.
EFT is measurable, focused and evidence-based, often offering faster results than other methods you may have tried.
It is difficult to suggest a 'prescribed' amount of sessions as what is needed will always depend on the person and their circumstances, but my experience is that after one session of EFT you will have a strong feeling about whether it is the right route for you.
What is EFT?
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT or Tapping) is a very powerful therapeutic tool using gentle tapping on traditional acupressure points done by you. It is usually combined with talking through the issue although this is not necessary if it is something you would rather not share.
Because EFT accesses both mind and body, it allows us to release negative emotions and also to access the limiting beliefs that might be unconsciously influencing the way we think and feel. We can easily underestimate the impact of these beliefs and EFT can help you identify them, understand what is behind your perspective and decisions and give you the freedom to make change if you want to.
During EFT we can often have deep insights and understand things more fully but it isn't our job to think or analyse our way out of the issue, instead we can connect with ourselves in new ways.
Have you ever noticed that when you have a happy thought, there is a corresponding sensation in the body? That's true of all our emotions and when we begin to include that language as well as our thinking mind we often find that we have a lot more wisdom that we realised.
Sessions are always at the pace you are comfortable with. As well as being guided through your 1:1 sessions in a deeper way, you will also learn how to use EFT between and beyond to support you in any moments of intense emotion and for more calm and balance in your everyday life.
What do sessions look like?
You will find my sessions are warm, non-judgemental and always a collaboration. I came to EFT many years ago as a client and I know first hand how powerful it is and how important it is to facilitate the right session for you.
We begin by meeting online through a free consultation of up to 30 minutes, where we have an opportunity to talk through what you would like to work on and how we can apply EFT to help. This is also a chance for you to ask any questions and assess whether it feels like a good fit for us to work together. There is absolutely no obligation on this call, just a chance to find out more.
I largely work online which is extremely effective, however I may be able to facilitate face to face sessions in and around Chester if that is your preference.
We will always start by speaking about the issue and how it feels. If there is anything you don't want to share EFT still allows us to explore it gently so you don't need to.
EFT is clear and measurable and you will be able to see the progress as we move through. Throughout our sessions we will review and agree on the way forward. You will have my full guidance but the direction we take is always up to you.
I came to EFT and somatic therapy many years ago as a client and my passion comes from the dramatic changes I was able to make to my own life through them. Because of my own experiences and because I use EFT every day, I know it is a powerful vehicle for living with more ease which at one time I thought was impossible. I know now that the freedom I craved is available to us all and much easier to create if we come across the right tools.
I am also a mindfulness teacher and can incorporate these techniques into session if you find them useful.

Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully accredited advanced EFT practitioner registered with the EFT and Mindfulness Centre, and a mindfulness and meditation teacher trained with Mindfulness UK.
I hold a Psychology honours degree as well as a Masters degree and am author of a chapter in the recently published Routledge Companion to Gender, Sexuality and Culture. I have also recently had an article accepted for publication in The Green Parent, where I talk through the power of EFT to support parents in connecting with their children.
I have supported clients with very different needs in 1:1 and group work in various capacities for many years and I also have the added experience of being a person who worked through my own difficulties using EFT and other somatic therapies - my passion and belief in this technique comes from being a client as well as a practitioner.
