Further information

About Reflexology

Reflexology is a natural holistic therapy where pressure techniques are applied to specific points on the feet to treat corresponding areas throughout the body. It promotes health and well-being by the Reflexologist who detects and treats any imbalances found.

Although Reflexology cannot claim to diagnose or cure a disease, it is thought to help ease symptoms by restoring balance throughout the body, thereby encouraging the body to heal naturally.

The Reflexology treatment

A reflexology treatment lasts for approximately 1 hour. To ensure the continued well-being of clients, all treatments begin with a consultation. A confidential record will be kept with any relevant notes for future treatments.

As the feet are worked on, you remain fully clothed and will just be required to remove your shoes and socks and be invited to relax on a reclining chair or treatment couch. Prior to treatment, your feet will be cleansed and a variety of reflexology techniques applied which will be adapted to suit your individual needs.

Reflexology is particularly beneficial for:

  • Stress, anxiety and tension
  • Relaxation
  • Circulation
  • Cleansing the body of toxins and impurities
  • Balancing the whole system
  • Revitalising energy

Reflexology is a relaxing treatment which is suitable for all ages.

About Reiki

Reiki is a non-invasive healing therapy originating from Japan which is administered by "laying on of hands", and can be defined as guided life energy which is channelled via the practitioner's hands to the client.

Reiki is particularly beneficial for relaxation, reducing stress, and helps to promote healing. It is a tranquil and calming therapy which can be safely practised alongside any existing medical condition.

The Client relaxes on a treatment table and remains fully-clothed throughout the duration of the treatment whilst the Reiki practitioner places hands lightly on or just above the client.

About Indian Head Massage (Champissage)

Indian Head massage originally derives from India where traditionally massage is applied to the head, hair and scalp, and is still practised regularly today. Westernised techniques have evolved to include massage to the upper back, neck, shoulders and upper arms, and if desired, include finishing the treatment with a gentle facial massage.

Indian Head massage promotes well-being and encourages improved circulation and immunity and may help to relieve and improve stress, tension, stiff upper-back and shoulders, hair loss, headaches, migraines, sinusitis, and insomnia.

The client remains seated for the 30 minute treatment which may be performed fully-clothed without oils or, if preferred, with oils and a towelling wrap will be offered for the lower-back.

Indian Head massage is a relaxing holistic therapy.

About On-Site Chair Massage

On-site Chair Massage (also known as Seated Massage) is undertaken on a specially designed chair where the client is able to recline forwards with the additional support of a face-hole, arm and leg rests.

The massage treatment that I offer is performed on the upper-back, neck, shoulders and arms and is approximately 30 minutes. The treatment can be offered with oils, or as a non-invasive treatment which can be performed fully-clothed, making it an ideal therapy treatment within the work-place, where shorter treatments can be offered to employees.

Massage is particularly beneficial for:

*. Reducing muscle tension
*. Circulation
*. Cleansing the body of toxins and impurities
*. Energising
*. Relaxation and reducing stress
*. Promoting a sense of well-being

About Body Massage

Body massage is a holistic therapy which is beneficial for removing muscle tension, helping to increase flexibility and movement within the joints. It is also a relaxing therapy which helps to eliminate toxins and stress, along with encouraging circulation. As well as several other benefits, massage may also help increase metabolism and energy levels.

Massage will be undertaken on a treatment couch with the client's preference of either oils or creams that are unscented for sensitive skins, or pre-blended aromatherapy oils.  The treatment that I undertake is based on Swedish massage, and will be for the duration of either 30 minutes for upper-back, neck and shoulders or 1 hour for a full-body massage to the back, neck, shoulders, arms and legs, and, if desired, includes a foot massage to complete the treatment.

Important information

If you have been diagnosed with or suspect you may have a pre-existing medical condition you should consult your GP for advice, diagnosis and treatment and always inform your health professional before starting any alternative or additional therapies, treatments or making any major changes in your diet or exercise programme.
