About me

After decades of physical and physiological problems ranging from digestive and hormonal concerns to debilitating sciatica pain, joint dysfunction and many more life-limiting issues, Soaz came across the Bowen Technique in 2010 and never looked back.

Since completing her initial training in 2011, Soaz had the incredible opportunity to train with some of the most experienced and knowledgeable Bowen practitioners worldwide, leading to on-going discussions regarding Tom Bowen's work with a view to continually refine her own technique.
A former professional Ballroom dancer and keen rugby aficionado, Soaz thoroughly enjoys working with athletes of all levels and is currently a partner of KP events.

She will, naturally, readily treat all members of the public who seek her help and expert use of the Bowen Technique.

Training, qualifications & experience

The Bowen Technique is a physical treatment working directly over soft tissues. Bearing in mind that soft tissues is everything but bones and water in the body, this indicates that a Bowen treatment can influence muscles, tendons, ligaments, skin, fascia, lymph, hormones, organs and nerves. Of course, the only thing holding the bones in place IS soft tissues and so it follows that even though Bowen doesn't directly works on bones, it most certainly affects them, i.e. their alignment, indirectly.During a treatment, your body will be assessed in order to identify soft tissues which have become dysfunctional - and likely to be at the root of pain(s) or problem(s) currently experienced - and targeted input will be used with a view to return those tissues to an optimal state of function.
Many people having tried Bowen have experienced the relaxing effect of the treatment, as well as the gradual disappearance of pains, aches, reduced mobility and other bodily dysfunctions.

Bowen is also an excellent therapy when it comes to accelerating the recovery from sports injuries: immediate treatment will ensure the body is switched to repair mode at once as well as focus those repairs to the needed area. Lymphatic drainage and blood supply are increased, causing a significant reduction of swelling and speeding up the healing process.

In terms of prevention, regular Bowen treatments will ensure that any tension picked up in between sessions is nullified, thus allowing tissues to return to an optimum, relaxed state before they become over-taut or inflexible, the cause of many over-stretched or even torn tissues and other physical or physiological problems.
