About me

Loraine qualified as a Bowen therapist with the Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia in 2003. She attends regular continued professional development courses that both enhance her skills and develop her knowledge of how the Bowen Technique can help many different aliments and conditions. Loraine is passionate about her work and her mission is to help those who come to see her to both improve their health and quality of life, and to assist them to maintain a balanced state of well being. The benefits of Bowen are endless: it is a very effective treatment with no side affects.
Bowen Technique.

At Rose Cottage Holistics Loraine firmly believes in the need to treat the whole person and address the cause, not just the symptoms of a problem. The Bowen Technique is perfect for doing just that. The Bowen technique is a gentle, non-manipulative therapy that helps many conditions.

Bowen is suitable for almost anyone. The technique is gentle and stimulates the body’s own natural healing process. It may be used on babies, the elderly and very sick as well as on sports people and the ‘man in the street’.

The technique is deceptively light, non-invasive and non-manipulative - often it feels like very little has happened - yet in fact it addresses the whole body, working on many levels including the physical, chemical, emotional, and psychological well-being of each client. From muscular pains and strains to digestive imbalances, from migraine and headaches to respiratory problems, the technique is successful at restoring your body to the balance and harmony of its original ‘blueprint’.

Loraine is also qualified in reflexology and Indian head massage, both of which are excellent holistic treatments for restoring balance, energy and wellness, both physically and emotionally.
The treatment room is a haven of peace and tranquility overlooking the Bedfordshire countryside.

After a detailed consultation and assessment Loraine will give each client an individual treatment which has been tailored to suit their needs. Often positive benefits can be felt after only 1 or 2 Bowen treatments but chronic or more long standing problems may take longer. A Bowen treatment can be performed over loose, light clothing and seated if a client is unable to lie on the treatment couch.
