About me

I have worked with touch for 30 years and enjoy working with clients who are interested to be gentle and mindful with their bodies and who are enjoying exploring holistic health and emotional well-being.

Touch enables us to access sensation and feelings. Feeling the beneficial powers of non -intrusive, gentle and safe touch has assisted many people to balance their awareness of their minds (not always being in your thoughts) with their feelings, sensations, and emotion in their bodies, learning not to over ride what the body may need - rest, recuperation, food, contact etc.

You can book a Massage with me with the view of becoming more bodily aware and enjoy the well-being that a massage offers. Please note that this is a therapeutic service only.

I am also a psychotherapist/counsellor in private practice.

You can also book a Rosen Method session which uses gentle touch and words to bring awareness and relaxation to chronic muscle tension and stress. Chronic muscle tension is the tension that you cannot relax by will and that can result in aches and pain, bad posture, less awareness of feelings and emotions etc. For more information about me and my services see:

'With touch, there is an awareness in the cells of the body that bypasses intellectual knowing...touch seems like a sword cutting red tape, finding the core of the barrier, of the suffering, of the holding.'

Marion Rosen, Accessing the Unconscious through Touch, (2003, 20)

Further information

Touch not only relaxes the person but also confirms that a relationship exists. Positive touch produces the hormone Oxytocin which helps to soften our bodies and our psychological boundaries. Touch also promotes interpersonal bonding, sociability, generosity, curiosity and exploration and bring rapport and engagement between individuals. When we learn to relate to ourselves (through touch by another) in a gentle way, we may also learn to relate in the same way to others.

'Nurturing touch is the caring, tender touch that communicates to the infant (or the other) his inherent right to be, fostering his inner sense of being cherished and valued as he is. This right is the grounding for the individual to feel what he is feeling and to believe that others will listen, understand and care.'

David Campbell, Touching Dialogue, (1989, 16)
