About us

Welcome to Excel Sports Clinic. Excel is a Sports Therapy clinic in York aiming to help you maximise and maintain your peak physical condition. Injuries are an unfortunate but inevitable part of exercising but we can treat those that do occur as well as helping to prevent future injuries. While Excel Sports Clinic specialises in Sports injuries, we are also able to treat a wide variety of other musculo-skeletal problems, from bad backs to repetitive strain injuries.

Our therapists Tom Robinson and Adi Hammond are fully qualified and experienced Sports Therapists who both work in professional sports clubs. We use this experience to provide a friendly and top quality service available to all members of the public.

Training, qualifications & experience

Training and Qualifications:
Both Tom Robinson and Adi Hammond hold BSc Sports Therapy (Hons), full membership to the Society of Sports Therapists and are fully insured.

Tom Robinson - Currently Head of Academy Sports Science and Medicine at York City Football Club having worked at the club since 2008, previously taught on the BSc Sports Therapy degree course at York College. Opened Excel Sports Clinic in 2010.

Adi Hammond - Currently employed by York City FC Academy as a Sports Therapist and also teaches on the BSc Sports Therapy course at York College. Has worked at Excel Sports Clinic since 2012.

The Society of Sports Therapists was established in 1990 to address the growing demands from sport and leisure on everyone involved in the management and care of injured participants.

We have verified that at least one professional at this organisation is registered with the relevant professional body.
