About me
I am a Minded Yoga Therapist, and a supervisor on the Minded Yoga Therapy Diploma course. I offer Yoga Therapy both online and in-person from my home studio in the heart of the Scottish Borders. Yoga Therapy aligns your unique and precise health needs with yoga practices which the yoga tradition - and also medical science- find to have specific therapeutic effects. Sessions may include breathing techniques, postures, meditation, relaxation techniques, or the promotion of behavioural changes rooted in yoga philosophy. We will co-create a plan together based on your holistic needs (physical, emotional and spiritual). Yoga Therapy aims to help you unlock the wellbeing you can have; viewing all layers of you as a whole person through a yogic framework and exploring practices which may support you in starting to thrive.
I have a special interest working with those with endometriosis, osteoporosis, menopause. chronic fatigue syndrome and long covid, Parkinsons' Disease, chronic pain, ADHD, anxiety, recovery post-stroke or cardiac event and depression. Yoga Therapy is also uniquely suitable for those who may have multiple diagnoses. If you have certain mental health diagnoses (e.g. PTSD or CPTSD, multiple personality disorder) I may be required to ensure that you also have support from a clinical psychologist or other accredited talking therapist. If you have a recent cancer diagnosis or other acute medical condition I may be required to ensure that your consultant/medical team are happy with you undertaking Yoga Therapy. I am always more than happy to liaise with other therapists, physio's and medical teams to ensure that your Yoga Therapy integrates with and supports your wider interventions as seamlessly as possible.
Training, qualifications & experience
Minded Yoga Therapy Diploma training requires an additional 580 hrs of yoga, anatomy, bio-medical and psychological training beyond a yoga teacher's existing 200 hrs, lasting over 3 years. The Minded Institute is at the forefront of integrating Yoga Therapy into healthcare and is a world leader in delivering Yoga Therapy training. This training, unlike many Yoga Teaching qualifications includes graded exams (4), research essays and graded supervised client work. My qualification with the Minded Institute is accredited by both the British Association of Yoga Therapists and the National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists. You can find more about this at: https://themindedinstitute.com
As a Minded Yoga Therapist I am bound by a specific code of ethics and some regulatory practices; and, as with talking therapists I operate under Supervision from other experienced therapists in my specific interest areas. This also means that I have a responsibility to stay within my scope of practice, and will be working with a supervisor to discuss any potential clients and make sure that I would be the right therapist for you.
I qualified from my Yoga Therapy Diploma in November 2023 and have been working with a wide range of clients in private practice since then, as well as being invited to help to support future Yoga Therapists in training at the Minded Institute and I am now a supervisor for 3 cohorts of trainee Yoga Therapists.

Additional information
£65 is based on a 90min initial session. Before the first session, I will need you to complete a quick call to discuss what you are looking for from Yoga Therapy (15mins, free) and then a detailed intake form - to ensure that your case falls within my scope of practice. We would then agree how many sessions may be best for you, and whether these should be 90min or 60min sessions. You will need to pay in advance of each session; and can choose to pay for each one or as a block. 60 min sessions are £50 online or in person. All online sessions are held over Zoom.
