About me

Hi, I'm David. I’m a therapist based in Frimley and offer holistic massages and Reiki.

My massages, which are done with you fully clothed and with no oils, incorporate the Reiki within the treatment. This allows me to work on any physical problems while at the same time leaving you with an improved sense of well-being and relaxation.

The type of massage I use in my treatments is an acupressure massage called Tui-na.

Tui Na (pronounced ''Twee Na)'' is a deep tissue massage that utilises the fundamentals
of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to deliver stimulation to specific acupressure points on your body.

Tui Na addresses the underlying causes of pain and illness as well as the symptoms.
Literally translated as ''push'' and ''pull'', it uses a variety of massaging techniques to ensure you receive the most appropriate treatment for whatever ailment you have. It also ensures that you receive a treatment that although can be quite deep, is still a pleasant experience for you!

My practice is based in Frimley, Surrey on the Hampshire and Berkshire border where I have a therapy room available with off road parking if you wish to travel to me.

I am also a mobile practice up to a distance of 15 miles from GU16 7JY for no charge (outside the London area). Any other arrangements required can be discussed.

        The Benefits Of Tui Na

You may possibly be looking to have Tui Na because you’re experiencing physical problems like headaches or a bad back, or you may be struggling to cope emotionally (as these issues can manifest as physical symptoms) or because you’re feeling overwhelmed with the general stresses of life. You may not even have any specific problems; you might just want to feel really good so you can enjoy life more fully.

As Tui Na supports your body’s innate ability to balance and heal itself, it can be useful in reducing stress and helping to restore your underlying energy. Tensions in the body can release in a supported and comfortable way, so that during or after a session you may feel calm and energised, with increased clarity of mind and an improved sense of well-being.

        Tui Na has been used for a variety of conditions and ailments, some of these include;
        . Headaches, Migraine
        . Insomnia
        . Shoulder, Neck pain
        . Sports injuries

        . Softening of scar tissue

        What's involved in a treatment?

The first session will consist of a short consultation where we discuss what you wish to get out of the treatment,  your previous medical history, any preferences during the treatment and/or tender areas that I should be aware of etc.

After this, there will be the main treatment; this can be done either laying down on a therapy couch, or seated (whichever you prefer). This treatment is done fully clothed, however, it is recommended that you wear suitable clothing; cotton, non slip materials, jumpers (not too thick) etc. Loose jewellery, shoes and coats will also need to be removed.

Depending on your symptoms Tui Na can be a full body massage incorporating the head, arms, shoulders, back, legs and feet in the treatment. The areas that will be massaged will be discussed both before and during the session to ensure you receive the most suitable therapy. No oils or creams are used and there will be regular dialogue during the session to ensure you’re aware of what’s happening, and are happy with all aspects of the treatment.
