Caroline Palmer MCMA Indian Head Massage, Story Massage, Natural Facials
Indian Champissage is the original Indian Head Massage treatment first introduced to the UK in 1981 by the late Narendra Metah MBE and it's popularity has quickly grown around the world.
Indian Champissage is an Ayurvedic treatment, designed to be a healing massage of the head and upper body (where tension builds) and it is specifically designed to be accessible for all.
The treatment takes place seated in a chair with:
- No need to undress
- No need for oil
- No travelling required
making this a more accessible massage opportunity for anyone to experience!
A full treatment takes 30 minutes and includes gentle massage of the upper back, arms, neck, shoulders, scalp and face.
Treatments are suitable for both children and adults and can be tailiored to suit any special needs or preferences.
- Indian Champissage is soothing and healing and has been scientifically proven to relieve stress.
It also releases tension and anxiety, has huge benefits in assisting sleep, reducing sinus problems and is wonderful for the condition of your hair (including the prevention of hair loss and greying). Oils are offered at the end of the treatment and provide many benefits to hair and the overall treatment experience.
Chakra balancing is included as part of this healing treatment to balance out the subtle energies, bringing the whole body of energy back into balance.

Sessions can be tailor made for groups of all ages, needs and abilities. Well known stories and rhymes are often used, or a fun activity can be included within a session to write a unique story massage of your own.

I am based in Thanet providing healing Indian Champissage (Indian Head Massage) treatments as a mobile service.
Narendra Metah was awarded an MBE for his services in the field of complementary therapies and is regarded as the 'Guru' of Indian Head Massage, he developed 'Champissage' which is his own unique style, based on traditional Indian head massage techniques, his own personal experiences, heightened senses and the treatment includes chakra balancing.
Therapists qualified in Indian Champissage have been trained directly by Narendra's associates who have experienced many years working with him.
I qualified as an Indian Champissage therapist with the London Centre of Indian Champissage in early 2018 whilst working for the Thanet Volunteer Bureau, helping to reduce loneliness in older people within the Thanet community.
Working with both older people and young people, I realise that many are starved of physical touch and the opportunity to be listened to, therefore, some simply find basic human contact and a friendly ear very therapeutic. In 2017, this inspired me to undertake basic counselling skills training with RELATE, as I wanted to ensure I was able to better support those coming to me in vulnerable, low or lonely positions.
After a long career in media and after 5 years working within education, in both pastoral care and support roles, I found that I have always got the most job satisfaction from helping others.
Working as a therapist has given me the opportunity to expand my role in supporting people and as my clients have experienced so many positive results, I am certain I am now following the right path.
I am a certified member of the Complementary Medical Association, fully insured and DBS checked to work with vulnerable age groups (older people and younger people) and I continue improving my knowledge and skills by attending seminars and professional development training.
I regularly donate my services to charity, attend many local events and I look forward to helping many more people of all ages, backgrounds, genders, needs and abilities.
If you have been diagnosed with or suspect you may have a pre-existing medical condition you should consult your GP for advice, diagnosis and treatment and always inform your health professional before starting any alternative or additional therapies, treatments or making any major changes in your diet or exercise programme.
