About me

I'm a fully qualified Western Medical Herbalist practising in Mapperley and Carrington, Nottingham. I offer personal herbal consultations. Herbal medicine is the use of plants to treat illness and to support health. It provides a natural, more gentle treatment with generally fewer side effects, which makes it particularly suitable for chronic conditions.

I believe in integrative healthcare as a way of achieving the best possible outcome for the patient. I aim to find health solutions tailored to the individual which promote long term health as well as addressing acute problems. I will work towards facilitating patient involvement and self-help to enable the patient manage their own health.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained at the University of East London and graduated with a BSc (Hons) degree in Herbal Medicine. As part of the course I studied anatomy, pathology, biochemistry, pharmacology, differential diagnosis, clinical examination and herbal therapeutics. The course also included 500 hours of clinical practice which I completed at the Stratford Herbal Medicine Clinic, Whipps Cross Hospital dermatology department and the Peacock Healthcare general practice in Carlton.

I continue my professional development by regularly attending seminars, lectures and keeping up-to-date with scientific research. My special interests include diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
