Amanda is a Masters level qualified Sport and Rehabilitation Therapist. My first Master’s degree allowed me to work as an exercise physiologist and I have over ten years’ experience of working with a multitude of athletes from amateur to elite level athletes in athletics, rugby and football, including Everton academy football club. I have a special interest in running injuries and general sports injuries, along with sports rehabilitation with a focus on strength and conditioning. I also have a passion for teaching and have worked as a University Lecturer for the past 7 years at Coventry and Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Bedfordshire. I’m currently delivering a host of private sports therapy workshops within Leicestershire to budding therapists and students and I am regularly attending courses and workshops to develop my own clinical practice. In my spare time I’m very active and I’m a keen netball player in a local Leicestershire league, a general gym exerciser and enjoy yoga and walks in the countryside with my family and my beautiful black Labrador Maggie!
The area of sports therapy is an aspect of healthcare that is concerned with the prevention and management of injury and the rehabilitation of the patient back to optimum levels of functional, occupational and sports specific fitness, regardless of age and ability. -Sports and Non-Sports Injuries
-Muscle, Tendon and Ligament Injuries
-Work Related Problems
-Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI)
