About this workshop

Learn how to make your own Thai hot herbal compress with Lucy Trend.

This mini-course teaches you a skill that will make your friends or clients very happy this winter! Thai hot herbal compress massage (Luk Pra Kob) is a wonderfully warming treatment, perfect for this time of year.

Unlike some of the commercial training courses which use manufactured compresses, we will be making our own from selected herbs and roots (supplied). You’ll learn about the properties of the herbs so that you can tailor the contents to the needs of the individual, and you’ll learn how to wrap them into a compress.

Further details

  • entry requirements: no previous qualification is required

More about compresses

Hand made herbal compresses are steam heated to release the aroma and properties of the herbs, such as Eucalyptus and lime leaf, frankincense resin and borneo camphor. Then they are patted, pressed, pounded and pummelled on the body.

A very tonifying and restoring treatment, adaptable for everyone, relieves muscular tension, deep bruising or torn muscles, good for respiratory ailments, water retention, fatigue, fertility, postnatal, you name it!
