From the foods we are eating to the careers we follow, all of our choices start with an intention. Many believe that setting intentions is the first step to creating our own future and that it can help promote a positive perspective on life.
It is also said that the healing power of crystals can help aid this practise. Similar to to-do lists or journaling daily goals, crystals can act as a visual reminder.
To create new intentions and a clear perspective, follow this four-step process:
Step 1: Connect
Each crystal is associated with a meaning, a specific energy and an intention. You may notice that you are drawn to certain crystals – similar to how you may respond to a familiar colour or smell. It is said that the crystals you are drawn to, are the ones that contain the energy you seek.
When selecting a crystal, focus on its colour and shape. Try not to focus on its healing abilities and let your intuition take the lead.
Step 2: Cleanse and clear
When you have selected a crystal, it is important to remove any negative energy that may be attached to it. There are many tricks to cleansing your crystal, including setting it under a full moon or soaking it in a salt bath.
Step 3: Set your intention
To set your intention, hold the crystal in your dominant hand. Clear your mind of any unwanted thoughts. When deciding on an intention, think of the whole journey. For example, instead of setting, “I want to win the lottery”, set one along the lines of “I wish to welcome courage and new financial opportunities into my life”.
Empty your mind and start focusing on the crystal in your hand and the intention you wish to set. Repeat your intention out loud until you feel connected with your crystal. Listen to your intuition, you will know when to stop.
Step 4: Revisit the energy
Keep your crystal near you. This could be in your coat pocket, at work, under your pillow or on your bedside table. This way it will serve as a constant reminder of your positive intention.
“Stay conscious of the energy, be positive and positivity will come to you.”
