Daily habits to make you healthier

Daily habits to make you healthierThe following simple rituals can enhance your health and happiness.

Creating healthy daily rituals can help you maintain resilience and positivity. The following habits can be easily integrated into your daily routine, helping to reduce stress and improve overall health and well-being.

Start your day with an affirmation

The way you think about yourself in the morning can have a big impact on the rest of your day – for this reason, we encourage a little positivity first thing in the morning. Write a list of positive affirmations about yourself and say them out loud first thing in the morning – an example could be:

“My life is beautiful and I have ample opportunity to succeed and be happy.”

Listen to soothing music

Music has an incredible ability to change the way we feel and is something we should utilise more often. Next time you are feeling stressed, anxious or overwhelmed – try listening to some calming music. You may find it useful to do this on the commute to work, so you enter the office feeling relaxed and happy. Alternatively, you may find listening to relaxing music when you get home from work helps you to switch off.

Swap coffee for tea

A simple swap, but an effective one – swapping coffee for tea can help to alleviate physical anxiety symptoms. If coffee is something you take pleasure in, allow yourself one good quality cup a day and swap the rest for green or herbal teas. You will still get that comforting feeling of a hot drink, but will come away feeling calm and relaxed.

Chew your food slowly

Being more mindful and chewing slowly when you eat helps to eliminate bloating and aids digestion. When we are in a rush, it is tempting to eat as quickly as possible (usually in front of our computers) but taking the time to focus on your food will be more beneficial to your health.

Gently stretch throughout the day

Ensure you take some time to stretch your body during the day. This can be as simple as doing a few stretches by your desk or as elaborate as completing a yoga routine in the evening. Either way, stretching your body will help to alleviate stiff and achy muscles – keeping your joints healthy and your mind relaxed.
