Simple workplace stress busters

With over 13 million working days lost to stress related absences last year, simple stress relief strategies that can be used both in and out of the workplace are invaluable when trying to keep your cool.

If you are beginning to feel like you might blow your top at work then try one of the following simple yet effective stress relief ideas:

Laugh

This isn’t really anything you haven’t heard before but having a good giggle can really boost stress-reducing hormones such as endorphins. Next time you are struggling to keep calm and carry on at work, suck it up and have a big belly laugh instead.

Nap

If your nights are spent tossing and turning in bed and you struggle to get a full night of unbroken sleep then having a midday nap can really help you to recharge your batteries.

Exercise

Make some time for exercise because believe it or not it is actually a great stress buster. A high intensity work out can really help to work off built up aggression and it also helps to boost the production of endorphins

Stay hydrated

Again this is not a groundbreaking discovery but many people forget that dehydration hinders our ability to solve problems. To avoid this, ensure that you stay hydrated throughout the course of the day, sipping water at regular intervals.

Put the kettle on

A classic British cure for stress which will provide you with a short energy boost and some stress relief. If you are already jumping off the walls then it is advisable to go for a herbal option.
