Natural Acne Remedies

Though for many, acne is an issue which only lasts throughout adolescence, the psychological effects can be much longer lasting. Lemon Juice and Rose Water – This combination should be applied directly to the skin and then gently rinsed off after a period of 10 minutes with cold water. Lemon juice is a natural astringent and has antibacterial properties and the rose petals which make up the rose water act as a natural toner.

Crushed Mint – Crush fresh peppermint leaves with a mortar and pestle and apply directly to the skin, leaving for 10 minutes. After the 10 minutes are up wash the leaves off using cold water. The peppermint should bring about relief due to it containing menthol, a natural analgesic and anti-inflammatory.

Oatmeal Face Pack – This is a great face mask which can be made using ingredients found in most kitchen cupboards. Simply make a single portion of oatmeal, allow to cool and then add a quarter cup of honey. Apply this mixture to the face and leave for 20 minutes before washing off. The oatmeal is a gentle exfoliator and will help to absorb any excess oil and the honey helps the mixture to glide on with ease as well as acting as a toner.
