Comedian Miranda Hart uses the Alexander Technique

Miranda Hart recently took part in the grueling task of cycling the length of the U.K all in the name of Sport Relief. The popular comedian took part in the 82 hour challenge stretched from John O Groats to Lands End.

Alongside fellow celebrities Davina McCall, Fearne Cotton, Russell Howard, David Walliams and Patrick Kielty she scaled 1,000ft peaks and battled icy blizzards, enduring temperatures as low as -15.

She has long since been an advocate of the Alexander Technique, regularly “breathing out the weeks stresses” in order to realign herself.

After cycling the length of the country, Harts skills in the Alexander Technique must have come in handy for releasing built up tension in the head, neck and spine.

The aim of the technique is to break the bad habits we pick up on throughout life such as ‘slouching’ . These habits usually become so ingrained they begin to feel normal, eventually resulting in limited movement. The technique will remove this lack of self awareness as well as preventing the physical decline caused by these habitual mannerisms.
