My name is Vincent Childerley and I have a BA (hons) degree in Traditional Acupuncture. I also have a background in Western medicine and incorporate modern medical acupuncture techniques into the treatments I provide.
Traditional acupuncture has been practiced for thousands of years and seeks to treat an individual at all levels of the mind, body and spirit. It begins with the premise that there is a real link between mental and physical health. Only in acknowledging this can the root or cause of a person's emotional or physical problems be addressed.
Modern medical acupuncture is very good at managing pain of various causes. It can take time for a course of traditional acupuncture treatments to get to the root of a problem. Modern medical acupuncture can be used to give some relief from painful symptoms whilst waiting for the traditional acupuncture treatments to take effect.
Conditions that often respond very well to treatment include:
Back pain, stiff neck, sciatica, shoulder, elbow, & knee pain. Migraines, IBS, asthma, stress and anxiety.
Acupuncture is frequently used to support couples with fertility issues and through IVF.
People often find it useful when struggling with PMT, menopause problems and detox from alcohol and nicotine.

Telephone, e-mail or pop in for a chat to see if I can help you: Free
Initial Consultation takes two hours. It includes quite detailed history taking, usually some physical examinations and then the first treatment with needles: Cost £50
All follow up sessions take up to one hour and cost £35
Most people are surprised at how little discomfort the needles cause. They are much finer than those used for injections and I mostly use a Japanese technique in which I aim to penetrate the skin without you feeling anything at all. To be honest this is quite difficult to achieve; however, the discomfort really is minimal.
If you are unsure whether you might benefit from treatment please get in touch. I'm always happy to answer any questions you may have about acupuncture.
