About me

Here at The Abbeyfields Clinic we believe in integrated musculoskeletal healthcare.  We offer an experienced and friendly team of professionals including an osteopath, sports therapist, physiotherapist, acupuncturist and pilates.  The dynamicnature of our team  means your needs will be identified early to ensure you receive the best possible care.  We recognise that some problems require a mixed approach and our assessment and
treatment process is designed to enable our integrated care philosophy. Complex and chronic cases are confidentially discussed in regular group meetings to enhance diagnostic accuracy and help plan the most effective treatment options in one place, at one cost.

Training, qualifications & experience

Tom worked for 8 years in marine engineering before retraining in physiotherapy and qualifying in 2007, and has since worked exclusively with musculoskeletal conditions. Alongside a full time NHS role in Hampshire he also spent three years at Southampton Football Club as academy physiotherapist, managing elite athletes from acute pitch side injuries right through to advanced functional rehabilitation. His work in the academy setting continues part time for Ipswich Football Club in addition to his role as senior physiotherapist at the West Suffolk Hospital.

Tom also utilises acupuncture as an addition to traditional treatment and rehabilitation techniques for acute and chronic conditions. He is able to assess and help manage any pain problem you may have and offers a dynamic, friendly and personal approach to his patient care and prides himself on being able to achieve an informal yet professional clinical environment.
