Training, qualifications & experience
Lorraine is qualified in – Therapeutic Massage, Reflexology, Manual Lymphatic Drainage Practitioner, and she is a Tutor and Assessor for MTI.
Lorraine is a Member of: Massage Training Institute (MTI), Association of Reflexologists (AOR), Manual Lymphatic Drainage uk (MLDuk), Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)
Lorraine has been a Practitioner for 19 years and Bodywork continues to be a source of amazement. She founded Meridian Professional Training in Massage in 2003 which she now Co-Directs together with The Meridian Centre for Complementary Health and Counselling.
Lorraine offers a wide range of massage skills – from soft tissue to deep tissue and remedial massage – all dependent on the specific needs of the client, from those wishing to explore emotional/psychological issues within Bodywork, to relaxation, to problematic shoulders and backs. She has her own well-established practice in Birmingham and is also employed for part of her time by the Health Service to provide Complementary Therapies for people with a learning disability specialising in approaches to communication and sensory processing difficulties. She also offers training to health and social care staff in massage and touch approaches – including palliative work for people who have a terminal illness.
Lorraine qualified at the London School of Holistic Massage in 1992 and later trained in Reiki, Reflexology and Manual Lymphatic Drainage – the latter to an advanced level and is therefore able to support clients with lymphoedema. In 2009 she Chaired the Massage Training Institute – a professional association and is now a national assessor for the Institute.
