About me

The Osteopaths is a family run practice in the heart of Glagow. I provide osteopathy, medical acupuncture and exercise as part of our musculoskeletal care services. The clinic is conveniently located right outside Glasgow Central station, with appointments throughout the day.

Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body, and is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together.

Osteopathy recognises the importance of the link between the structural balance of the human body and how it functions. Imagine for example, a car that has one of its front wheels not quite pointing straight. It may run well for a while, but after a few thousand miles, the tyre will wear out. You can apply this example to the body, which is why it’s important to keep it in good balance.

Training, qualifications & experience

Teresa Harvey spent ten years as a nurse and a ward Sister specialising in spinal medicine and neurosurgery in London and Cambridgeshire before deciding to retrain as an osteopath.

Teresa qualified with a first class honours degree in Osteopathy from the British School of Osteopathy in 1998 and has since worked and taught in the UK and overseas.
