About me

25 years experience in Complementary Therapies

Clinical Aromatherapy & Massage

Clinical Aromatherapy is an holistic approach to health care and is used to promote healing, as well as a preventative measure. Aromatherapy may encourage the immune system to work more effectively whilst also promoting relaxation and reducing stress. Aromatherapy can be used side-by-side with other complementary therapies and with conventional treatments.

Treatments are suitable for all, including children, pregnant women, the elderly and frail.I use essential oils to address a wide range of conditions and I select the oils based on the condition being treated.

Aromatherapy is suitable for many conditions including IBS, depression, eczema, psoriasis, insomnia, candida, stress, sciatica, back problems and muscular issues, to name but a few. Aromatherapy massage also offers relaxation and the opportunity to unwind, de-stress and take some ‘time out’.

Aromatherapy and Reflexology in Pregnancy

Reflexology and Aromatherapy are gentle treatments that holistically support the mother as she moves through her pregnancy. Reflexology and Aromatherapy treatments help to maintain balance during this time of rapid change, and optimize health. I have trained in the use of essential oils for pregnancy, and any mother can be confident of a safe and therapeutic treatment.

A full consultation is taken during the initial appointment, and any health issues or concerns are discussed.

Most women find reflexology and massage at this time to be relaxing and beneficial by improving sleep, improving digestion as well as gaining an enhanced feeling of well being. And these therapies have been shown to be highly effective in reducing stress and anxiety that some women experience at this time.  Reflexology can also be used to prime the mother for labour, and is a perfect therapy to receive after delivery and aid post-delivery recovery.

Reflexology

Reflexology is an holistic therapy used to maintain good health, keeping the immune system working effectively and addressing imbalances in the body. Reflexology is also an excellent means of relaxation. Many of us lead busy, hectic lives that can lead to stress and tension that in turn can lead to ill health. A reflexology treatment can encourage the body to relax, promote good sleep and lower blood pressure.

In addition, reflexology is used to address a wide range of health issues, for example, arthritis, eczema, IBS and the side effects of cancer treatments and long term conditions such as MS and Parkinson’s Disease. Depression, stress, sleep issues, physical tension and their attendant side effects may also be treated with reflexology.  Many clients feel they have benefitted from regular reflexology treatments that reduce or improve their symptoms.

Reflexology for Fertility

An increasing number of women are finding it difficult to conceive with as many as one in three couples experiencing fertility problems. Of these, one in six will seek medical help with conception. Getting help to get pregnant can be both stressful and expensive. Reflexology for fertility can provide help and support for only a fraction of the price, and works in a number of ways to enhance fertility. On a physical level it can tackle medical conditions that may be present. It is also excellent at reducing levels of stress. Psychologically it may also help address the complex mental and emotional facts that may be affecting your fertility.

Reproductive reflexology can be used as a stand-alone treatment to enhance your natural fertility or with conventional treatments, such as Clomid, with fully medicated cycles of IUI, IVF, ICSI as well as with donor eggs. Members of the Association of Reproductive Reflexologists are specially trained to work alongside medicated cycles using treatment protocol that we believe works to enhance the medications efficacy.

If you are investing in a fertility programme, or trying to enhance your natural fertility, then these reflexology treatments are a means of improving your reproductive health.

Client review

"Sandra is a professional, experienced, attentive and kind person. I regularly visit her for aromatherapy massages and she mixes wonderfully fragranced oils together according to how she finds out I am feeling during each visit. After a few sessions she greatly reduced tightness in my lower back. I keep going back because I always sleep so well after her treatments and leave her house feeling so happy. Highly recommended. Cathy K"

Client review

"I visited Sandra after months of back and hip pain that was unresponsive to painkillers. After only a couple of treatments I was noticing a marked improvement. After a couple more I was pain free."

Client review
'I was totally amazed by the positive effect that Reproductive Reflexology had on me. My periods had become heavy, and painful due to stress. and were becoming a real drain on me each month. After only 4 treatments the pain reduced so much I no longer needed pain killers, and the period became much, much lighter. I stopped feeling so tired, and PMS was unnoticeable. I would highly recommend these treatments to anyone suffering from a disruptive menstrual cycle. They have rebalanced my body superbly.'

pregnant ladyMaternity Reflexology or Pregnancy Reflexology

Maternity Reflexology or Pregnancy Reflexology is a gentle treatment and designed to holistically support the mother as she moves through her pregnancy. The treatments help to maintain balance during this time of rapid change, and optimize health.

Most women find reflexology at this time to be relaxing and beneficial by improving sleep, improving digestion as well as gaining an enhanced feeling of well-being. It has been shown to be highly effective in reducing stress and anxiety.

Remedial massage is a deep tissue treatment that aims to restore normal function to the muscle after injury or strain. Remedial massage aims to address these problems by reintroducing flexibility to the tissues and surrounding areas, breaking down scar tissue that has already formed and improving blood supply to the area. In addition the nervous system is stimulated, or awakened, which can produce a relaxing effect on the tissues and reduce pain levels. The lymph system also benefits from enhanced function that in turn promotes good recovery.

Aromatic medicine uses essential oils applied intensively in therapeutic quantities, in far higher doses than are usually found in aromatherapy, through a variety of methods. It is a widely practiced therapy in France, although still relatively unknown in the UK.

I use my knowledge of the chemical composition of essential oils, their individual properties and effects to treat a wide variety of conditions in a clinical setting.

Massage is not necessary for the majority of treatments. Oils may be applied in a ‘drench’ directly onto an affected area that has been warmed to promote absorption into the skin. Additionally bespoke blends, lotions, inhalers, pessaries etc. may be prescribed as appropriate for home treatment once a thorough clinical assessment has been made.

This treatment is suitable for many conditions including depression, skin problems, digestive issues, menstrual problems and hormonal imbalances (menopause, PMT, thyroid problems etc). It appears particularly effective for treating leg ulcers, wounds and persistent bacterial infections.

Reflexology for the Menopause and Aromatherapy for the Menopause

For some women the 'Time of Life' can be difficult, worrying and uncomfortable. Reflexology and Aromatherapy can help each woman deal and cope with her symptoms in a natural way. Whether you are coming off HRT or dealing with the menopause without medication, why not consider this gentle yet effective treatment?

Reflexology for Fertility

I offer a course of treatments for pre-conceptual care, infertility, assisted conception and pregnancy using complementary medicine. I work with both men and women at any stage in their fertility planning, whether they are enhancing their general health before trying for a baby, experiencing problems with conception or require help and guidance during pregnancy.

If you are undergoing fertility treatment with conventional medical practitioners, I can work in ways to enhance their therapies and boost the chances of success using your body’s own mechanisms.

If you are investing in a fertility programme, or trying to enhance your natural fertility, then these reflexology treatments are a means of improving your reproductive health.

Clinical Reflexology can be used as a treatment for ill health and many people feel they have benefitted from regular reflexology treatments that reduce or improve their symptoms. Reflexology can also be used to maintain good health and is, in addition, is an excellent means of relaxation.

In Clinical Reflexology I take a full consultation at the first appointment and therapeutic essential oils may be added to the massage medium to further enhance the effectiveness of the treatment.

Clinical Reflexology seeks to work alongside conventional medicine in supporting clients with health issues, as well as promoting and maintaining good health. It can be used to address a wide range of health issues, for example, arthritis, eczema, IBS, cancer and the side effects of treatments. Depression, stress, sleep issues, physical tension and their attendant side effects may also be treated with reflexology.

Clinical Aromatherapy

Clinical Aromatherapy is an holistic approach to health care and can be used to encourage healing, as well as a preventative measure. It may encourage the immune system to work at its optimum level whilst promoting relaxation and reducing stress. It can be used side-by-side with other complementary therapies and with conventional treatments.

Aromatherapy Oils

I use therapeutic grade essential oils to address a wide range of conditions. I select the oils based on the condition being treated and the chemical properties of the oils in relation to the client before me. For example, muscular spasms may be treated with rosemary, marjoram, cypress and lemon essential oils. Conditions that can be treated include IBS, depression, eczema, candida, stress and muscular issues, to name but a few. Aromatherapy massage also offers relaxation and the opportunity to unwind, de-stress and take some 'time out'.

Aromatherapy in Pregnancy

Aromatherapy is a wonderful treatment to receive whilst pregnant, as it encourages the body to work at its best during this important time. I have trained in the use of essential oils for pregnancy, and any mother can be confident of a safe and therapeutic treatment.
