Sajida Anna Prescott
I am a registered homeopath working in the Sheffield area. I have had homeopathy in my life for as long as I can remember. We used the remedies as children and it was to homeopathic medicines I turned to care for my own 5 children. I have always loved the way they work.
Homeopathy takes the whole person into account and addresses the individual rather than simply the ailment. The way we become ill and express our illness differs from person to person as do the remedies we may need.
The first consultation can last up to one and a half hours and we will go over your personal and medical history, the details of your ailment, your general state both in health and illness as well as other factors that can really help me to fine tune the prescription. The initial consultation itself can initiate the healing as you may start to understand more about some of the issues that lie behind your current life problems.
The remedies are made in a very special way. Around 200 years ago a German physician named Samuel Hahnemann discovered and evolved a way of extracting a powerful but gentle healing force from natural substances. He wished to treat as efficiently as possible with as little side effects. To this end he found that the most miniscule dilutions could be given as long as the substance had been exposed to a procedure called succussion. This system, the dilutions alternating with succussion, caused the energetic qualities of each substance to become therapeutic and safe. He spent his life developing, testing and refining this wonderful system of medicine. The medicines themselves are usually administered as pills or in liquid form. They are not only pleasant to take, which makes it easier for children and animals, but they are very economical too.
Once the initial consultation is complete and you have been given your remedy we will arrange a follow up appointment for approximately 5 weeks later. This will be a chance for us to assess the effects of the remedy and see whether further prescribed remedies is advisable. For some people it will be enough for the time being and they can return in the future if something new comes up. For others a regular check in is preferred especially if the problem is chronic or deep rooted.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have been using homeopathy extensively since the birth of my first child in 1991. I found that a basic knowledge of the principles and remedies was enough to give myself and my children an abundance of support and healing. Over the years I lost count of the times that I was astonished by the wonderful action of this system of medicine.
I embarked upon my training in 2001 with The British School of Homeopathy. After a year and a half our family relocated to the Isle of Skye. I completed my Qualification with The British Institute Of Homeopathy as they offered a distance learning programme. My clinical observational training was done in Sheffield where I was very fortunate to meet and learn from some fine homeopaths both in the NHS and in private clinics.
I graduated in 2005 I am a fully registered and insured member of the Homeopathic Medical Association. I run my clinic from my home in Sheffield.
