Homeopathy can be used by everyone, from babies and children to adults, including women during pregnancy. Homeopathy is beneficial in helping babies, children and adults with a wide variety of problems.
Homeopathy is a department of science in general medicine. In 1796 the Homeopathic School of Medicine was founded by Dr Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician who is regarded as one of the greatest scientific pioneers. Hahnemann observed that substances that are poisonous or inert in their crude or natural state can be used to cure that which they can cause. Hence the establishment of the basic principle of homeopathy: like cures like.
Homeopathic remedies are prepared in tablet, pillule, granule or liquid form. They are simple to take: under the tongue, when the mouth is clean.
The selection of the correct homeopathic remedy is the most important part of the process. In order to do this, understanding the make up of the individual – not only physically but mentally and emotionally – is of vital importance. This information is ascertained during the homeopathic consultation. The substances from which remedies are obtained are derived from animal, vegetable and mineral sources.
Homeopathic medicines, when prescribed appropriately, are safe, non-toxic and non-addictive. They can be taken alongside drugs prescribed by your doctor and will not interfere with their beneficial action. As your condition improves, you may be able to safely reduce your conventional medication, thereby avoiding the unwanted effects that sometimes accompany the long-term use of drugs.NB: you should always consult with your GP before making changes to your conventional medication.
Homeopathy is one of the most widely used forms of medicine in the world today, because people are discovering the benefits of a system of medicine that is safe, and treats them as unique individuals.
Homeopathic medicines are chosen to help the whole person, because homeopaths believe the mind and body operate as one, and you cannot treat one part of the body without affecting the whole. Medicines are chosen to fit all the characteristics of the patient.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully qualified Classical Homoeopath and my objective is to provide high standard of patient centred care. I am registered with the Alliance of Registered Homeopaths (www.a-r-h.org/).
My previous training and profession was in Dentistry. Homeopathy helped several family members and also my personal experience with homeopathy led me to my vocation to study it after a career as a dental surgeon.
I have been in practice since 1999 after having qualified from a four year course on classical homoeopathy in UK at the London College of Classical Homeopathy.
I have been continuing my professional development by attending varied training courses. Since the beginning of my training in Homoeopathy I have been attending ongoing post graduate seminars with classical homoeopath Sheilagh Creasy, whose experience in Classical Homeopathy spans over half century. I have also studied at postgraduate level with Luc de Schepper.
