I have been teaching Yoga since 1990 and trained with the Inner Yoga Trust. I have since developed my practice with Birthlight and hold a Well Woman Level 2 certificate.
I offer one to one yoga therapy sessions at my studio or at your home if you need that extra focus for your specific needs. These private lessons are entirely focused on what your unique body needs and where you are in your life now. This personal focus will help you to rapidly develop your awareness of body and breath. Some people find their symptoms of imbalance are alleviated very quickly and for others, more sustained practice is necessary to address more deeply rooted problems.
Hatha Yoga one to one sessions and classes are for men and women and blend attention to structural and postural balance with a somatic approach to the postures. The emphasis is on feeling and being in the body, exploring movements rather than achieving the perfect pose. Attention is given to your breathing pattern and how you move and breathe on a daily basis. Clients have brought the following issues to the sessions: back and joint pain, convalescence from stroke, cancer care, insomnia, breathing difficulties, high blood pressure, sciatica, poor posture, fainting/black outs and stress.
Well Woman Yoga offers a range of yoga practices that support reproductive health, hormonal balance and general well being for women only. Through a blend of postures, breathing practices, meditation and relaxation you will enrich your sense of self and allow space for healing and re-balancing for both mind and body.
Well Woman classes and one to one sessions move at a gentle pace and can alleviate a variety of issues that affect the quality and vitality of a woman's life. These can include anxiety, hormonal imbalance, irregular cycle, menopause and post menopause, prolapse and stress incontinence. The group class is small and discreetly supportive. Beginners are welcome. Not suitable for pregnancy or newly postnatal
