Hello, thank-you for visiting my profile on the Therapy Directory, I hope you find something of interest to you here.
I am a practitioner with extensive experience in treating people seeking to recover from substance misuse. I worked 18 hours a week at an organization in this field in central London for 3 years before continuing the same work for a further 2 years on a self-employed basis with CRI (Crime Reduction Initiative). During these years I acquired considerable clinical experience not only of the conditions associated with recovery from substance misuse but also from a wide range of other health issues (back pain, respiratory conditions, painful menstruation, insomnia, arrhythmia and depression).
Many clients presenting at these services were given what is called a 'dual diagnosis'. This means they were recognized not only as recovering from substance misuse but also as having a mental health diagnosis. It is this area which has continued to fascinate me and stimulate my personal research into the benefits of touch-based therapy to those with a mental health diagnosis.
If you would like to know more about my work and the experiences I have had of providing Shiatsu treatment as part of a professional, dedicated care team, please get in touch by e-mail. I am very happy to share my experience and provide treatment, advice or referrals as appropriate.
Thank-you for taking the time to read this. I wish you good health and happiness.
