Hello, thank-you for visiting my profile on the Therapy Directory, I hope you find something of interest to you here.

I am a practitioner with extensive experience in treating people seeking to recover from substance misuse. I worked 18 hours a week at an organization in this field in central London for 3 years before continuing the same work for a further 2 years on a self-employed basis with CRI (Crime Reduction Initiative). During these years I acquired considerable clinical experience not only of the conditions associated with recovery from substance misuse but also from a wide range of other health issues (back pain, respiratory conditions, painful menstruation, insomnia, arrhythmia and depression).

Many clients presenting at these services were given what is called a 'dual diagnosis'. This means they were recognized not only as recovering from substance misuse but also as having a mental health diagnosis. It is this area which has continued to fascinate me and stimulate my personal research into the benefits of touch-based therapy to those with a mental health diagnosis.

BA Joint Hons English and French, University of Leeds, Leeds 1985 - 1989.

Diploma in Shiatsu: The European Shiatsu School, London 1997 - 2000.

Member of the Register of The Shiatsu Society (MRSS) since 2000.

Registered Shiatsu Teacher with the Shiatsu Society since 2003.

Post-graduate Diploma in Chinese Herbal Medicine: London College of Traditional Acupuncture, London 2004 - 2006 (not currently practising).

I am also a Shiatsu Teacher, running the London branch of the European Shiatsu School. This is the school I trained with, offering courses at all levels, from absolute beginners, or those who are 'just curious', right through to professional qualification.
