About me

I run one-to-one sessions in Newlands and in the west end (currently at Woodland Herbs). These last for one hour.

My Story
Slightly puzzled as to why i appeared to be falling apart at the age of 28, I was interested to discover the problem was with the way I moved, the way I sat at the computer - the way I did almost everything. But with chronic tension problems, poor body positioning, and the poor kinesthesia that accompanies such problems, it seemed i needed expert help to sort myself out.

My sessions with an Alexander Technique teacher in London were so interesting - constantly discovering more about how I did things, and why they were wrong - and gave me so much relief from pain, that I decided to train in the Technique.

I work with all kinds of people, mostly individuals who suffer from musculoskeletal problems like back pain, RSI and joint problems, often with great results. In the process of helping someone sort their posture, I am also working to make their breathing easier and healthier - breathing in a way that allows the musculature of the whole back to participate much more fully in allowing air to come and go. This tends to hugely improve the efficiency of breathing, and routinely eliminates problems like hyperventilation, while also helping people to be much healthier in general.

Training, qualifications & experience

I began learning Alexander Technique over 10 years ago, and since then have completed a 3-year full-time training course to become a teacher. I am accredited by the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique, and have been teaching the technique professionally since 2008.
