About me

Paul Coker MSc MCSP

‘Experienced specialist musculo-skeletal physiotherapist, with clinic bases in Penzance and Truro’.

‘Everyone from elite athletes to arthritic octogenarians can expect to leave the clinic feeling better, informed about their problem and with a plan of action to promote recovery’.

Career history

I qualified in 2001 from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. I worked for the NHS in a variety of settings, gaining broad base of experience in all aspects of physiotherapy, before specialising in the treatment of musculo-skeletal conditions. In 2006 I left the NHS and completed and Masters Degree in Manual Therapy at UWA in Western Australia. Since then I have worked in professional sport and private practise in New Zealand and the UK.

Current work

I aim to treat every patient as a unique individual. I work to assist you and your body to move better, hurt less and recover more fully.

I treat a wide variety of patients, young and old. My aim is that everyone from elite athletes to arthritic octogenarians can expect to leave the clinic feeling better, informed about their problem and with a plan of action to promote recovery.

Treatment with me consists of a thorough assessment of your problem from which we formulate a treatment plan which usually consists of several of the following.

In clinic treatment:

  • Joint and neural mobilisation
  • Joint Manipulation.
  • Soft tissue and myofascial release.
  • Kinesiology taping

Out of clinic treatment

  • Simple effective home exercise plans
  • Postural advice
  • Self treatment and pain relief tips

Alongside my clinic work I am also the medical director of Rocktape UK. I teach kinesiology taping and soft tissue release seminars throughout the UK to a wide variety of health professionals. When I’m not in the clinic or at a seminar you’ll find me in the surf or running the coast path.

To book an appointment call 01872 241955. Please tell the reception staff that you would like to a physiotherapy appointment (otherwise you might get your teeth checked!) and which type of appointment you would like to book.

(Paul also works at Clarence House in Penzance; please call 01736 363970 for appts.)
