Deep Tissue massage
This is the type of treatment in which deep pressure is applied to specific areas of the body, using slow strokes and deep finger, hand, knuckle and forearm pressure to release tension.
It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, lower back tightness and sore shoulders.
Advanced techniques are used to get to the deeper layers of the muscle. This allows releasing the tension and addresses the problem areas such as knots in the fiber of the muscle.
Relax, de-stress and relieve chronically tense muscles.
Sports Massage is very effective in dealing with muscular problems, although you do not have to be an athlete to have this treatment. Every day activities, like long hours at the computer, carrying a heavy briefcase or running for the bus can lead to problems associated with sport.
By applying specific advanced massage techniques such as Neuromuscular Techniques, Soft Tissue Release, specific stretches and Acupressure Points, to reduce soreness and help enhance power, stamina and flexibility.
This is a style of massage therapy where I actively stretch and move your body. Also there is a focus on working the energy lines of the body, similar to acupuncture.
Thai Massage can improve posture, breathing, flexibility, digestion and circulation. Muscles are stretched, inner organs toned and emotional and nervous tension is reduced. Often a deep sense of peace can be experienced during and after a treatment.
You will be dressed in loose comfortable clothing, allowing ease of movement and flexibility. The massage is performed on a mat placed on the floor. No oils or creams are used. Typically a session lasts between 1 ½ - 2 hours.
If you have been diagnosed with or suspect you may have a pre-existing medical condition you should consult your GP for advice, diagnosis and treatment and always inform your health professional before starting any alternative or additional therapies, treatments or making any major changes in your diet or exercise programme.
