I am a qualified and UK registered Craniosacral Therapist with 10 years experience in private practise. The gentle and effective skills in Craniosacral Therapy (CST) may be particularly suitable in pre and post-natal care and for the elderly.
People may come for CST because they have acute physical problems like headaches or bad back, neck pains, or long-standing problems both physical and emotional like anxiety, insomnia, chronic stress/post traumatic stress, tinnitus, menstrual/hormonal disorders, sciatica. Others come for ongoing support in their busy lives and for help to meet life’s challenges.
Because it is so gentle and non-invasive, CST is suitable for everyone from newborns to the elderly. Mothers and babies often come for problems associated with difficult or traumatic births. Letting go of tension and fear held in the body enables both to settle into calmness. CST is beneficial even if the pregnancy and birth were trouble free. It can also offer support for:
- establishing and supporting breastfeeding
- developing good sleep patterns
- early infant feeding problems including colic, reflux and allergies
- torticollis (wry neck)
- bonding with parents and siblings
Pregnant women may come to CST for:
- minor pregnancy ailments such as back pain
- balancing effects on nervous and hormonal systems
- support for both mother and baby
- preparing for birth

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy has its roots in Osteopathy and the osteopathic tradition of William Garner Sutherland who, in the early 20th century, had a revelation about the motion of cranial bones. He spent fifty years of his life studying and researching these motions.
At 75 years old he had that further revelations about what drives these motions:
He concluded that they are driven by a deep underlying force, which he named the Breath of Life. The Breath of Life carries an inherent intelligence that creates order in body and mind.
'I especially love working with these underlying forces in Craniosacral Therapy because it adresses the roots of the patterns present in the body. From here I can most effectively support the body to heal.'
If you have been diagnosed with or suspect you may have a pre-existing medical condition you should consult your GP for advice, diagnosis and treatment and always inform your health professional before starting any alternative or additional therapies, treatments or making any major changes in your diet or exercise programme.
