Training, qualifications & experience

I am experienced at treating all ages of patient and am equally interested in remedial soft tissue treatment as I am in treating sports injuries and rehabilitation. I am experienced in working with many different types of athletes, particularly runners, cyclists, triathletes, fencers, boxers, rowers amongst others. I enjoy achieving results for patients, helping to alleviate pain, increase movement and a return to optimal function and movement. I was pleased to be selected to provide massage treatment at the London 2012 Olympic Games and the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

I am a highly qualified & experienced Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist, with a Level 5 BTEC Diploma in Sports and Remedial Massage from the North London School of Sports Massage. I am trained in a wide variety of soft tissue techniques with the goal of optimising sports performance, intra event recovery and injury rehabilitation. The Level 5 Diploma is the highest level of training currently offered in the UK.

I am a Level 4 member of the UK Sports Massage Association and am a fully qualified sports first aider. I am focused on ongoing professional development through reading and research and attending courses to learn new therapeutic techniques to deliver the best treatment possible to my patients.

Further information

"Maria is fantastic – as a climber I often get muscle pains, especially in the upper body, and Maria has never failed to cure these. She is very skilled and the massage is different every time, based on treatment needs. Highly recommended!"

Maria is an excellent and skilled sports masseur. I consulted her for a problem with my back as I had pain and limited mobility, after a few treatments I had increased movement and a lot less pain!"

I have been carrying my stress in my neck and shoulders for years, and I always found that a standard massage although relaxing, didn’t do much to really help the problem. Then a colleague recommended Maria, and I have never looked back! She’s friendly, knowledgeable and she knows exactly how to give targeted relief to the areas that need it most. Not only that, but she helps you to assess what is causing the problem, and how to solve it. Maria is the cure for the pains of a “dangerous” desk job.
