Hello, my name is Marcia, I am passionate about all forms of reflexology and since qualifying I have taken a number of other courses to further my knowledge. The two courses I am most excited about are:
Limbic Reflexology is a new addition to the world of Reflexology, and represents a revolutionary breakthrough in the help that a reflexologist can offer those seeking help with emotional pain. Working new Limbic reflex areas in the feet, using specific techniques, we can now connect with the brain networks that underpin many disabling conditions such as anxiety, depression, chronic pain conditions and much more.
Functional Reflex Therapy (FRT) is a combination of relaxation techniques drawn from reflexology. It is designed to empower those who support children and adults with:
* Autistic Spectrum Disorders
* Neurological Impairment
* Learning Difficulties and
* Complex needs
FRT provides you with the skills to deliver a short repetitive relaxation routine that can be undertaken at a time convenient for you.
A child or adult receiving FRT regularly may encourage the release of the "happy chemicals” throughout the body which may:
- Induce relaxation
- Help improve mood
- Reduce anxiety
- Relieve tension
- Support wellbeing
I use Functional Reflex Therapy with my son who has Down's Syndrome as part of his bed-time routine, and it is the one thing that he always asks for.
I run workshops for groups or provide 1-2-1 training and as I am only one of three reflexologists currently in Scotland that has completed the Functional Reflex Therapy training, I am extremely motivated at the start of 2017 to pass this knowledge on to as many parents as possible as I know first-hand how invaluable it is.
I am a member of the Association of Reflexologists and the Functional Reflex Therapy Network. I also practice as a Limbic Reflex Therapist and am fully insured. I hold an IIR (International Institute of Reflexology) Diploma and have been trained in the Ingham method of reflexology.
