Reflexology is a complementary therapy in which I will use my thumbs and fingers to apply pressure to reflexes on your feet.
It is based on the ancient principles that energy is flowing all around our bodies. If the energy can flow freely then we are balanced and healthy. If the energy is obstructed an illness may result. My job is to disperse any blockages so that the energy can flow freely around the body.
The theory is that the feet mirror the body. All organs, systems and glands of the body can be mapped onto areas of the feet called reflex points. Working these reflex points help to bring about a response in the corresponding part of the body. Reflexology doesn't claim to cure or diagnose, through working these reflex points I will aim to stimulate the body’s own natural healing ability to restore the body’s normal healthy balance and energy.
It is a wonderful, calming and relaxing treatment and many of my clients say it feels like they are floating on air when they leave!
If you have been diagnosed with or suspect you may have a pre-existing medical condition you should consult your GP for advice, diagnosis and treatment and always inform your health professional before starting any alternative or additional therapies, treatments or making any major changes in your diet or exercise programme.
