I have been teaching the Alexander Technique for 10 years - to individuals, to groups and in business. My practice is based in two locations in Edinburgh - Portobello and Joppa. I have experience working with people with a wide range of health conditions, as well as with those wishing to improve their performance in sports, music or business.
I am also an active researcher on the Alexander Technique and am the Chair of my professional association's Research Group. I am currently a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of York, where I have been part of the study team for the ATLAS clinical trial which demonstrated the long-term effectiveness of Alexander lessons in reducing the pain and disability associated with chronic neck.
Please see my website for further information.
Training, qualifications & experience
In 2006 I completed the 3-year, full-time STAT-accredited training course at the Manchester Alexander Technique Training School. I am a member of STAT (the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique), and the CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council). I am fully committed to my continuing professional development.
My original training was as a research scientist, with a degree in Microbiology and a PhD in immunology.
