Reflexology is a non-intrusive complementary therapy which aims to reduce tension as well as strengthen and balance weak spots in the system in a totally safe and holistic way, thereby encouraging the body's natural healing powers to take over.
Pressure is applied with the tips of the thumb and sometimes forefinger to stimulate the 7,000 or so reflexes on each foot. If there is congestion in a particular area of the body, the corresponding reflex on the foot will also be congested and may feel tender when pressure is applied. Pressure therapy on and around these areas can help to clear nerve pathways and improve blood supply, thereby giving the body a chance to heal itself.
Tremendous results have been achieved for a wide variety of everyday ailments. Conditions such as back & joint pain, stress, exhaustion, insomnia, migraine, respiratory problems and menstrual disorders to name a few can all be helped. Many people have turned to Reflexology as a last resort and find it is the only thing which gives them any real relief.
