I am a highly experienced and qualified Complementary Health Professional, having spent the past 16 years involved in helping others to improve their health and well-being. I am passionate about the work that I do and also about teaching people how to take responsibility for their own health.
The Alexander Technique gave me total relief from an otherwise debilitating frozen shoulder and played a large part in me being free from the severe asthma I suffered with as a child. Changing my diet cleared up the severe eczema I had for many years and Life Coaching has led me to look at life more positively.
I continue to study and learn to aid my own health now that I am 'middle-aged' (!) and to enhance my work, and results, with the pupils and clients that come to see me.
Training, qualifications & experience
I completed my 3 year training at The West Sussex Centre for The Alexander Technique (WSCAT) in 1996 and have been teaching full time ever since. As well as giving individual lessons from my teaching room in Basingstoke, I have given many talks and workshops throughout the South East and abroad. The establishments I have taught/teach at include:
Grayshott Hall Spa and Health Centre
Cranleigh Boys' School
St Swithun's Girls' School
Adult Education Centres in Surrey and Hampshire
Ain-Sham Medical Schools' Congress Cairo
I have a wealth of experience in work-related musculoskeletal disorders and, as a flutist, I particularly enjoy working with musicians of all ages.
In addition to being a teaching member of STAT, I am also a qualified Naturopathic Iridologist, Life Coach and Swedish Massage therapist.
Fees for individual lessons are:
1st lesson £50.00, which includes a set of 'memory aid lesson cards'
2nd and subsequent lessons £38.00.
A combination of an Alexander lesson and a 30 minute massage: £55.00
Fees for talks and workshops are negotiable, depending on the time and venue.
Fees for my other disciplines/therapies are available on request.
If you have been diagnosed with or suspect you may have a pre-existing medical condition you should consult your GP for advice, diagnosis and treatment and always inform your health professional before starting any alternative or additional therapies, treatments or making any major changes in your diet or exercise programme.
